They're on the ghost of another site, may it R.I.P

The Creepometer archives are lost to history....

Mind you, on a brighter note, so is the Copmeisterometer!

But is he serious. That's what I must know :-)

Jeez, not again

Surely you remember the arguments, sorry debates, about this in seasons past Dazzler ?

I remember some argument about Ollie's mate and his "model". Is this the same guy?

No, this is Creepy rather than Ollie's mate.

The Creepometer is soley based on what Creepy thinks we will get out of each fixture...

I really have not come across this chap before then (or excised him from my memory).

It's Creepys considered forecast of our season based on years of experience (he's quite old :-) ) In the past few years it has been reasonably accurate for 2 main reasons, 1 He is rather pessimistic., 2 We have been sh*t.

Oo-er...

I think l;ast seasons was the first one that appear on here. Earlier iterations were mainly on another forum.

I'd resurrect the Selly-o-meter, but there is no comparable data to compare it to (unless of course I compare our results with the champions/2nd placed team last year...)

Does he take himself seriously with all that mathematical guff or is it just a bit of fun?

Who Creepy? Well he did have tha gall, as someon above has pointed out, to claim that being up by 20 points one seson and down by 20 points the next showed almost 100% accuracy over 2 seasons...

To be honest, I think it has taken on a life of its own myself...

Last time I saw him he was at a winery in Walla Walla with a smile on his face. DIdn't seem to have a drink in front of him though.

As the number of games starts to become statistically significant, the power and reliability of the Creepometer scientific model starts to kick in and we see just a one point variance on the month.

All that rather than the simple admission that you completely fucked up August? Sheeeeesh. :D

I refer you to my post at the end of last month. It's a marathon, not a sprint
Of course one of the hardest variables to predict in my algorithms is the impact a new manager has. Excellent start for the universally admired Mr. Wilson not originally accounted for but I have faith in my model which has a proven track record

Keep on keeping on Creeps

Another pretty acurate month for the Creepometer

Accurate in that you got 1 result right out of 6?

Given that there are 3 possible outcomes to every game (HW, AW and D), out of 6 games a monkey randomly pointing at 3 shapes representing those 3 outcomes whilst its trainer shouts out "Charlton", "Preston", etc would do better than the Creepometer....

Or, alternatively, an octopus randomly choosing which pot he wants to get his dinner from.

Didn't that get 5 out of 6 correct?

So in reality, you're 500% better off using an octopus than this "the Creepometer remains, the single most authoritative, accurate, ground-breaking, scientifically based, Sheffield Utd predictor on the market." to correctly predict football results.

Paul the Octopus got 8 out 8 predictions correct at the World Cup. All seven of Germany's results plus Spain in the final.

Predicted for October 9pts
Actual for October 9pts
A bit better than an Octopus!

Well not really, the octopus got a 100% record, you cannot beat a 100% record.

You by the law of averages stumbled upon the correct result for a sequence of 6 games, getting only one result correct in the process.

Imagine that logic if it was used in a pharmacy. Six different drugs have been sent to six different people but only the correct one went out to one person, it'd be a bit of a fuck up wouldn't it?

Do you need me to explain how statistics work?

Do you need me to explain how statistics work?

Yes, do tell me how saying we will beat Wednesday 2-1 and lose to Preston 2-0 but still be correct when those results do not actually happen...

If you are going to claim we will get 78 points in a season, just say so. Don't be upset when people poke fun at the fact you are wrong for each individual result.

Your statistically analysis had the methodology of 'two wrongs do make a right'.
