Crap Ref

He looked like lord Voldemort’s little brother trotting around like a cunt waving those cards around.

If there is one thing to take from crap refs at the Lane it is that the crowd gets going & the lads get their dander up so to speak. When that happens the atmosphere is hostile & we always seem to rise to it & show what we are made of, keep it coming for me!

2 people ruined that match. Mowbray, setting up to stop us play - but to be fair that is his job and the ref who lost control early.

Being a premier league ref I wonder if he was looking down on us. It could explain alot of his very harsh decisions, if he was expecting a bunch of pub league ruffians, as well as this idea that we are still a hoof ball physical side that everyone seems to have. Then again bash's "hand ball" was the most blatent ball-to-hand situation I've ever seen, fast curling ball hits his arm which is by his side, never in a million years.

We won 3-0, who gives a shit?

Sometimes decisions go for you, other times against you.

I’ll never slag off the ref, football is 20 years behind the likes of Cricket and Rugby. Get the VAR in the Prem and Championship and give the refs a fair chance of getting the big decisions right 99% of the time.

I can only think of one bad challenge in the game and that was their red. I'll wait till I've seen it again but I wasn't convinced it was that bad. Fortunately for us the ref had received two shiny new cards for Christmas and today was his chance to play with them.

Watched it again. It's a high challenge, it's a clumsy one, but I think the fact he clatters his own man with it tells you about the intent. Could be convinced either way but the speed with which the ref gives it, from the angle he's got, seems a bit rash to me. Basham's red is fucking ridiculous.

They can start by trying to get the small decisions right. Like when it’s a corner not a goal kick or when two players run shoulder to shoulder and one throws himself to the floor. It isn’t a free kick!! What made his legs give way? I agree they need help at times but as with the ref on Boxing Day, how come they miss so much of the bloody obvious?

He was a fucking disgrace to his profession and to the sport. Utterly disgusting performance...if I behaved with such a level of incompetence in my job I would be sacked, no questions asked.

Unfortunately, this is football, where the incompetence of referees is seen as a positive by those in power, and this useless, jumped up little tosser will continue to draw a huge salary for being (for legal reasons I am restricting myself to saying) utterly and totally useless.

Why is it that the standard or refereeing was much higher when they were all quantity surveyors from Durham?

Meanwhile, two names for you - Mike Riely and Darren Bond.

I think when your referee was a police constable/quantity surveyor/magistrate or whatever they obviously loved football to do full time jobs and still want to be a ref on the weekend.

Now professional referees just seem to ingest the rulebook and have no feel for a game of football at all, well a small amount do but we don't seem to get them.

I think he is one of those nerds , that just like filling reports in , or he had a empty sack at Crimbo . as opposed to emptying his sack at Crimbo ..

So you’ve never made a mistake which on the face of it looks silly?

He gave the corner in the end didn’t he? So what’s the problem?

Stevens was very naive in getting booked, if a player is running with the ball towards goal and you go in like he did the chances are the player will go down and get a free kick. I would expect a United player to do the exact same and I would also expect a free kick and booking.

Was it blatant hand ball?
No such offence in the football rule book as "blatant" hand ball or even "deliberate" hand ball. Hand ball is hand ball mate. It was hand ball. That decision was correct. What wasn't correct was the previous yellow for tackling an opponent fairly with intent to win the ball.

Special mention for the lino on the south stand side as well, he looked genuinely pissed up. Couldn’t run in a straight line, was on the pitch half the time and on the AstroTurf for the other half as well as hardly getting a decision right. Bizarre.

How about in the first half when we only got awarded a corner because their goalkeeper dropped the ball out of play, knowing it had already clearly crossed the line? Unreal, could see Taylor laughing in what I hope was embarrassment!

Go in like he did? Really? They ran shoulder to shoulder. He did nothing wrong but was stronger than his opponent who collapsed to the floor. They were looking for set play situations all aftertbecause that is there strength. Yes we’ve all make mistakes but when it’s as often as it was this afternoon people tend to question the referees integrity (which is wrong) or his ability. Are you saying referees can’t have a bad day at the office?

Are you joking about the ref ???????????

Well I thought the ref. was consistent.
He consistently gave fouls against us - in dangerous areas - for looking at a Blackburn player. A dirty look was a yellow.
He consistently ignored the own rules he'd set where it came to Blackburn. Deliberate foul? Handball? Blatant diving? Nothing to see here, move along.

Now I'm not suggesting he was 'got at', but surely it's time drink/drugs tests were introduced for the officials as nothing else could explain that cunts performance (and his yes-men on the lines) today.

It’s only an offence when it’s deliberate, that’s what the rule states - specifically uses the word deliberate.

what about the totally legitimate challenge from Basham right in front of me in the family stand which resulted in the referee booking the player..........meanwhile the assistant with much the same view as me DOES or CONTRIBUTES.... NOTHING!!!!!
Not even a foul, DEFINITELY NOT A CARD

You don't have clue what you're talking about.

I realised we had a poor ref today when he took ages to get the game started in the first half. I don't know what he was messing about at.

The first was dubious but the second was outrageous for me, he was in a fucking wall.

Send him back to his highdiving meeting in the Premier League. I'm just glad he didn't fall for that diving twat in the penalty area just before we scored.
But did he go back and book him? Blatant dive.

Anybody notice when the ball blatantly went out for a corner infront of the Kop and he just started walking off. The lino was flagging for a corner; our players and even the Blackburn players assumed it was. He only realised after a few seconds when it was brought to his attention. Duffy was giving him a right gob full about it. I’m surprised he didnt book him. Then he just stood there laughing about it like his incompetance was funny. Doubt he’d be laughing and joking at Pogba or Aguero if they were pointing out he wasnt doing his job properly. Absolute tossbag.

You could see Stevens lean into him, players have been going down easy all of his career, you would think Stevens would learn not to give away cheap free kicks.

I’m fine with accepting mistakes, that’s why I’m not bitching and moaning about the performance. Like I say, don’t help them with VAR and you’ll get mistakes.
