We kicked off at 12:15 Bruce, we won 2-0.

I'm sure our health and safety culture has played a part (G+H, family stand etc) but nothing is stopping our fans standing up on the Kop like the Leeds fans do behind BOTH goals. I think that collectively, our passion has dissipated. We just don't have the lively, boisterous types of supporters Leeds have. Those years in L1 have a lot to answer for. People might disagree with me but go to the back of the Kop - it's even dead up there and that's a very bad indicator for the overall 'passion level'. Celebrate a goal moderately and people look at you surprised.

They're the same fans that occupied sections G&H on the South Stand, the same fans that used to go on West John Street and they are the same fans as always on the kop
Bramall Lane used to be absolutely rocking and there has definitely been something done by somebody to eradicated it from Bramall Lane

Our fans won't stand up because somebody behind will fight with their own fellow fans over it. Blades family my fucking arse.

This is the biggest problem, some of our own fans are more than willing to smack somebody in the back of the head if their precious view is obstructed for a millisecond. The same people will sit looking at their phones for 80 minutes out of the 90 but woe betide the person who stands up in front of them.

Those who used to be on G+H etc have now got older and there's next to nobody to replace them. The result is we now have a rather feeble fanbase. It's evident to me every home game.

I sit in ssb4, there are getting to be more and more young kids in there now, which, if you have half a brain, don't really want to be surrounded by blokes, shouting, singing and swearing.
Until I had kids of my own I never thought about it, but when I see young ones covering their ears and scrunching up in their seats cos they're scared, it kinda opens your eyes.
I honestly think that BLUT and the back of the kop and South, should be adults only, or 16+ anyway, and then you'll get the atmosphere back I think.

Anyone else notice the clapping started just before Duffy, not for the first time, put a premature stop to it. It all had a happy ending however when everyone joined in the applause when the goal celebration died down.

My experience of Wembley is exactly the opposite. Families who have supported the Blades through thick and thin being threatened by pissed up fans for not singing for every single minute of the match.

On a more general point your continual slagging of our support is very odd. Our support, home and away, is better than most. If all you are bothered about is continuos singing, join a fucking choir.

That's what I'm struggling to grasp, you might be right about the L1 years taking some of our fans passion away.

When we was doing well in 2005-06 we were filling the stadium more often it seemed like at least, be interesting to look at the numbers.

G+H block closing really killed a lot of our intimidating support.

Seriously though, I said to those around me today that was the flatest I've know it for a long time considering what's at stake. What a contrast today compared with say Derby (away) and Derby at home for that matter. I have it from ITK that our players say it really does make a difference when the crowd back them with chanting and cheering our play and jeering the ref and opposition.

I'm not bothered about continuous non stop singing, I'm bothered about feeling like I'm at a meaningful event and not something people couldn't care less about. I want to feel like I'm among football supporters, not theatre goers. I want to go to home games where it can be enjoyable even if the match and the result aren't. If that's very odd so be it.

Singing in a choir is, or at least can be, an uplifting experience.

When explaining this to judgmental people, I liken it to singing in the football crowd, at the lane. I would say that has been my most powerful experience, on the kop, as opposed to any choir.

But Ricky is right. We need to up our game.

It's amazing about perceived support. Been to a couple of games at Anfield this season with my cousin, although not biggy games, and the atmosphere, after Y N W A, was awful. Mate of mine who has an OldTrafford season ticket says that the atmosphere is still prawn sandwich brigade type apart from the major games. Don't think atmospheres are the same as years gone by but it's amazing how many accolades our support has had over the last few seasons. Wouldn't want the Crystal Palace type of contrived support. Must admit I couldn't get overly excited yesterday, Rotherham isn't a real Derby, the weather and conditions also put a damper on it, and the early kick of time was a joke.

We haven't conceeded a goal this year and won pretty much every game ,Paul Warne thinks it's the hardest ground to come to but I'm sure a few verses of jack Charlton is dead would improve that

I think having a good team and manager has quite a lot to do with it.
