So if referees aren't allowed to officiate teams they support, why is he allowed to rule on the safety of the infrastructure (pitch and surrounding areas) when we have an early pitch inspection. Surely he could sort us out with a dodgy postponement to avoid playing a form team or something. Inconsistencies everywhere.

I'd guess if the home team don't want a match playing, it's not hard to get the postponement over the line.

Ian Chappell, Aussie captain at the time is the cuntstump in flip-flops, alongside a fellow stumper Tony Greig. This whole thing happened overnight before the final day of the 3rd test at Headingley. Interestingly enough, one of those prosecuted for causing the damage to the pitch in support of George Davis was called Peter Chappell.

If he genuinely does support us, how is it fair he is allowed to ref games against our relegation rivals? Some very dodgy antics against Everton last week, sending an Everton player off with two yellows then ignoring a clear second yellow for a Liverpool player.
I wonder if he could ref every game involving the bottom 6-8 clubs?? Could be very helpful!
