Cardiff and Sheffield United are set to make a shock bid for Oldham striker Craig Davies, who only joined the club in the summer.

Craig David? Off of Bo Selecta?

With Our Kes as well?

So I've just found out, so perhaps more in this than I thought.

How old is he then?

He's 24. Big lad, and judging by his picture looks quite an imposing figure. Can't say I've seen him play. But, his goal tally looks healthy.

Even if he hadn't played under Micky before then I'd have thought that Micky would have good knowledge of him anyway, Micky left Port Vale when they were 2nd to Chesterfield so he'll be acutely aware of the rival teams in that division.

Anyway its a waste of time, he only scores goals under John Sheridan, John Sheridan said so

(I actually like the way expig Sheridan speaks, but it was just funny to hear)

That report also states that 'Ull 'ave released Peter Halitosis. Blackers woz after him prior to this season so do you think he will show up at The Lane?

if it said CURRENT championship team I would have been more confident

We have not got the pulling power to land decent League 2 talent.

We need to get looking at the local semi-pro teams for our stars of the future.

The Championship club is almost certainly Reading. They've been heavily linked with him and lets face it, he would be much better off there at the moment.

Can't work out why he would want to move to a team in the same league, perhaps in Jan if we are doing well and they are in the doldrums, but I just can't see it happening tbh.

We are always going to be hugely more attractive than Chesterfield, whatever the respective current League positions. Crowds, facilities and crucially far bigger wages [even now] mean its no contest.

No disrespect to Chezzy, but could it be "bigger club syndrome"

We are shit, no doubt about it, but which club would he expect to have more scope longer term?

Anyhow, at the moment, I take all these rumours with the old proverbial pinch of salt

I guess so, but we are undoubtedly a club on the slide atm, while Ches appear to be very much on the up, hence why I think he would poss wait until January, and assess the situ then?

Youve just got to look at D Bent moving to Villa from Sunderland, back in Jan Villa were near the bottom and Sunderland looking at Europe but players see the potential (and more importantly the wages) as a big pull.
