Boxing Day against a shit team we worked hard to impose our playing methods on an inferior team. Today we either believed our own hype or simply couldn't possibly be expected to play on that surface darling and turned our backs,


Too many players wanting winning pay in an easy league or noit enough pros wanting to play at a higher level where they'll get fucked. Discuss. Either way for the xth year running I can't back them.

Poor coaching and tactics. Simple as.

I've seen a fair few nippy little players running at us this season and putting the defence on the back foot but all we seem to have to offer going forward is average paced players who have to keep checking and turning back because their supporting team mates aren't attacking the box or the danger areas aggressively enough.

I think Wilson's tactics have been shit this season.

We're simply not that good. We're on a par with the other sides in League one, but, we really shouldn't kid ourselves and think that we're any kind of stand out team. It's a grind week in week out and we'll just have to see where we end up.
We lost today against a side who had a player (Steve Howard) who a large amount of Blades would have loved to have signed even at the start of this season.
Let's hope Danny can come through and sign two or three beneficial players for a good promotion push in the new year.

No. I thought the ref. made good allowance for the pitch. Ditto the 'penalty'. The excuses have to stop.

For the first 15 minutes or so, Wilson watched Hill being outjumped by a bloke a foot taller (Howard) until the penny dropped and he told Maguire to mark him.

When he made the first - utterly ineffectual - sub., he allowed Blackman to go central when Stevie Wonder could see he's best on the right.

Make no mistake, this home defeat has been coming all season. The reason? We never, ever 'work' the opposing defence nearly enough (especially in the first half). Take away two early 'flaps' by their goalie and a long-ranger which wrong-footed their goalie (our first goal) and that was about the sum total of 'fortress' Bramall Lane. Once again, you could almost see a light bulb go on above Hartlepool. 'Hey! This lot aren't that good. We can win this!'

They missed two decent chances just after they took the lead. They played some decent football, got men in the box and we looked shaky on loads of occasions.

But what about this? Over 50 years I've watched the Blades - through thin and thinner. I've decided that if McCabe sells Maguire in January, that's it for me. Seen it too many times before and the straw that broke the camels back well have been reached.
