Cover for Mousset needed

As like for like as possible.

He has become so pivotal to everything we do going forward that proper cover/competition for him has to be something of a priority. Especially with his apparent injury issues.

If he stays on today, we win. I have absolutely no doubt about that. He kept them pushed back. Our outlet, the constant threat. As soon as he went off they could relax, as we suddenly became limited.

Karlan Grant from Huddersfield stands out as an obvious option.
100% agree. Watkins, Grant and Assombalonga. The only reason I throw the last one into the mix as he possibly would be 4/5 choice so maybe a cheaper alternative.

As an overseas option I'd like Robin Quaison from Mainz. Sweden attacker with that balance of pace, technique and work rate who can play as a 9 or a 10.

Grant would be expensive enough. Spending silly money on Watkins doesn't appeal to me too much.

McGoldrick is Mr Indestructible though to be fair!

We've certainly found our strike partnership. Now if we could just keep it this way for 2 seasons.....

I'd fancy Robinson/McBurnie/Freeman to have a better go at replacing McGoldrick than anyone would replacing Mousset though.
Good point, not much faith in Robinson or McBurnie to do the same job as Didzy, going off what I have seen so far.

Freeman is a Maybe, very positive impact in the few minutes he has had.

I still can't believe how well the squad as a whole have stepped up a level. Going to be hard to find genuine competition for these lads. Great times.

Extremely hard to see where we could improve apart from improving the squad depth.

Think we may go overseas to find Moose 2
Without doubt ! I know very little about overseas options, but anyone similar (in country) who is doing well will likely cost too much in Jan.

We did struggle to adjust to not having an over the top out ball when he went off today and turned possession over almost immediately for 20 mins.

Agree 100% absolutely pivotal to us

Can see your point. but how many teams have 11 quality replacements for their first choice 11? Only Man City can claim that.

Remember where we are in this league, first year and limited finances compared to others in the top ten.

It's great isn't it - when a hopeful ball bounces over the defence you fully expect him to get a clear cut chance from it.

This is the only thing im worried about... due to the simple fact that Moose is so amazing, that we end up almost inadvertently going to a more direct long ball style of play for Moose to chase all game.

Alle fuckin leulea ,at least you get it , everyone else needs to stop taking the s6 deludimol

Any word on why Mousset went off today? Was it just cramp, or a hamstring injury?

Anyone watch Fulham on Friday night their stand in C/F Kamara he looked a strong and pacy and took his goals well He may be worth a punt if not too pricey

Robinson plays a similar game and that’s why he started the season ahead of Mousse. It’s just that Mousse is now hitting fitness and form.
Not similar at all...one is a beast, ox like strong, fast, purposeful and lethal... the other is powder poof, tippy tappy type who is nowhere near the same kind of threat

Our hardest player to replace like for like. I can only think of Grant or Watkins as obvious replacements. We have strikers who can come short in Mcgoldrick, Mcburnie and, at a push, Freeman. We only really have Moose and at a push Robinson as the long option. To be fair to him Sharp gives the long option a good go.

Judging by the way he ragdolled Phil Jones, Akinfenwa is the closest. Great to have a forward with strength and pace. Last time we saw that at this level was when Made sent You're packing against Arsenal but he never really had the fitness to kick on. I think Lys will be a different proposition.

Great to see both Robinson and McBurnie involved in salvaging a result.

They'd at least have a chance to be effective in a different way in place of Didzy. But he's levels above them.

Mousset has out and out pace. We can't manufacture a replacement for that out of our current squad

Whoever we bring in Jan has to be willing to not start and potentially have games where he doesn't play at all. I think that rules Grant out (I also think he'd cost too much)

There has to be somebody we could bring in on loan who can give us 20 minutes of nuisance

Saw a tweet from a Bournemouth fan saying that it's taken our conditioning team 3 months to do what Bournemouths couldn't in 3 years. Get Lys to lose his arse lol.

The penalty Wycombe won against Doncaster was hilarious, as a high ball was dropping, the Donny defender decided to clatter into Akinfewa (who was facing away from goal) at top speed. The result? An injured defender and a 1-0 win for Wycombe.

Of course, it made Gareth Ainsworth happy so it wasn't all good.

They're very different animals. Mousset is a beast (and a CF). Robinson isn't.
Mousset is the player I thought we’d signed when we got Robinson. I thought Callum would perform in a similar fashion if given the license to play up top.
However, he doesn’t look to have the strength or instinct to pull it off.
It’s a shame because it looked so promising in pre-season. It’s still early days so he might still come good, but a like for like for the Moose would be immense.

Let us hark back to happy, BladesMad times. And so, we pray...

Our Porter, who art not Beavon,
Bellowed be thy name,
Thy goals will come,
Games will be won,
At S2, as it is our Heaven,
Give us this day our Greasy Chip Butty,
And forgive us our slashing,
As we forgive those who still slash against us,
And lead us on to Promotion,
Deliver us from League One,
For the Lane is the Kingdom,
Bring us the glory,
for ever and ever,
Bladesmen.

Well here's another angle. What if another club are also taking a shine to Mousse, and splash some cash for him?

Every silver lining etc, so on, such like.
