Yeah but the train station waterfall thing !!!!!!!
I don’t know what condiments Coventry is famous for but Hendersons is better.

I suspect they don’t even have their own style of fishcake, but even if they did it would no doubt be inferior to ours.

They’ve cornered the market though with 80s ska bands though so fair play.

Realistically they do. Forest and Derby hate each other and don't really care about Leicester.
Leeds syndrome. A relatively big team flailing around trying to find someone - anyone - to have as a rival.

Is it because Coventry like to makeup rivalries with just about any club within a 50 mile radius so most games are a local Derby?

Probably just counting people on database as attending, bit like our scruffy little neighbours do.
The attendance is actually tickets sold for the game. Season ticket holders don’t need to turn up to be counted.

Me? I go home and away mate. Some you win, some you lose, some you draw with 10 men. Nothing to be bitter about. A draw away is always an OK result. I never let it bother me, it's supposed to be a fun hobby

I'm just surprised by the awful atmosphere. As an away fan, you want the home atmosphere to be good so you both get banter going back and forth. There was next to nothing.

But as long as you're all happy with it and keep buying season tickets on the promise of free premier league tickets, I guess your owner will be laughing. See you in March (if you actually go to games)
Not bitter,, just whining,😂🤣

I always thought Cov were one of those clubs (like Blackburn) with a stadium too big for their fanbase…But I was wrong, they would easily fill that stadium if they got promoted, and if they managed to achieve a full capacity before the end of the season they would pip us for average attendance.

They had an offer, which started last season (and released again this season), whereby if you buy a season ticket and renew it each year, then if Cov get promoted to the prem by the end of the 27/28 campaign, you get a free prem season ticket for the first season in the top flight.

Had a large uptake and made a big impact on attendance*. Good idea by the club, especially if it comes off, so the fans will continue to buy-in to any future similar ideas.

*Averages
21/22 19,541
22/23 19,950
23/24 25,468
24/25 27,058 (so far)

It’s an even better idea by the club if it doesn’t come off (i.e. they don’t get promoted while it’s running) as they get the benefit of increased sales without ever having to forgo a penny of income. It’s a cleverer approach than Wednesday’s multi-year season tickets as those will inevitably mean a loss of income in future years.

It’s a one-off idea though if it doesn’t come off as I imagine fans will feel “once bitten”

Middlesbrough is just like yours though. A little gang of knobheads with a drum crammed into a few seats together. Manufactured shit.

It's not. We've never had ultras. There's never been a group leading it. It's one random fan with a drum.

Yep. Our crowds were shite because we've been through more in the past 20 years, after we moved to the stadium, than probably any other club.

When that attendance was announced there were a few looks of bemusement around me. There definitely wasn't 28,000 people in that ground. It's how all clubs work nowadays though, for some bizarre reason.

There was. There were 5000 empty seats which is about right.

......but they wont come anywhere near filling their stadium for the remaining matches.

This season they are pretty much gauranteed to get their biggest average attendance since 1970....so they are a club on the up
but it will still fall short of what we get and that's with us having some of the highest mach day prices in the Championship.
If we charged normal prices then we'd be pushing 30K almost every match.

However pretty certain they will end up with higher gates than Sheff Wed this season.

Why won't they? If they make a push up the league they will without a doubt be filling it, they also have high prices, £37 the other day, only Wednesday and qpr I reckon our fans will pay more than that. They've got an Impressive home and away support, no knocking that at all. Would easily sell out every home game too if they ever got up, What made you bring Wednesday into the conversation too, completely irrelevant.

It's a 33,000 seater stadium. 5000 empty seats. Of course it's 28,000.

If only you had a drum, you may not stand in silence for 90 minutes every time we play you 😯😯
Next you’ll have the big flags too like Boro just to complete the total bellend certification 👍

Nowhere near 28000, must count in freebies and ST holders who don't attend and then add a few to make it look good. Mate who's a Pig fan and went to the Sty on Saturday told me there wasn't 20K there but the attendance came up as 23K.

It’s a great idea for any championship club that’s usually only 2/3 full. I don’t know their prices but it looks like adding a few million quid extra in each year just in season ticket sales, then probable further purchases, plus grows the fan base for the future and improves support - which could even help the team over the line to a few extra points.
If you go up, and pull in a few hundred million, the loss of the relatively minor income of ticket sales will feel like it was well worth it.
You’d think any club with their sort of attendances and stadium size would be all over it.
