Coutts

Although Coutts links up well with Brayford, he is NOT a wide midfielder. He has no pace and no means of beating a player. I think in the centre he is quite steady and keeps / plays the ball well. If we persist in playing two out of Hammond, Basham, Coutts in midfield, then we need wingers or some outlet wide. JCR gets slated by some but al least he is positive every time he gets the ball.
JCR and Coutts entertain me ,that's what football is about ,someone who can beat a man with skill and ability. That's why sunday league football is more entertaining than premiership ,players try a beat players and get their head up not just pass the game to death ,I have only seen JCR ,Sharp , Coutts and Freeman do that this season ,not just with pace but skill

Do you think Coutts can cope defensively/physically as part of a two man central midfield though?

No. He could not be part of a 2 man midfield I think in the centre. He is slow and unfit. We would get even more swamped than we do now. He is out wide as there is nowhere else to play him due to this fitness/mobility concern. Ditto for Baxter. I would rather we play Campbell Ryce and Adams out wide but as for the middle two; no idea - we need two new players in there.

Coutts beat a man several times yesterday - at one point he beat the same man about three times.

Doesn't alter the fact he was knackered after five minutes (literally).

Haven't seen anything mentioned anywhere but there must have been something wrong with him yesterday. He was playing in front of us in the first half and was almost doubled up after 5 minutes - you'd think that he'd just played 90 minutes. It went downhill from there and, one noteworthy run aside, he barely got moving. Penalty summed his day up, it was a needless challenge and the bloke had already nicked the ball from him because he was so slow to react. Others had bad games but he just didn't look interested from the off.

Absolutely. He was really blowing at about literally five minutes in. This can sometimes happen if you go into the red - but he'd done nothing that should cause that in a professional athlete.

He did recover to some limited extent but was off the pace nearly all game.

I was amazed he came out second half, and the tired challenge for the second penalty (regardless of whether it was a penalty or not) was no surprise at all. There were some very good creative flashes from him, but I do wonder if one of the invisible things Hammond does is Coutts's running.

I like him a lot, but much like Baxter I just don't know where his place in the side is in a 442. He's not fit, mobile or strong enough to play in the middle. But when played on the wing he offers too little defensively meaning we are often left exposed at full back.

I just want them all to disappear. Don't care if we throw a few babies out with bath water. We seriously need to declutter and consign this season into fucking history. Hanging on to players who show a few flashes of brilliance every now then, when they feel like it, is not moving us forward.
We need a scorched earth policy here and now.

Even if we sposs the play offs

Who's saying they'd buy any better.
But Coutts has to go asap that lethargy can't be tolerated it is infectious.

Sifting through the Blades squad is like sorting out yer rammel drawer. . . You're always reluctant to throw stuff away but it never comes in handy.
Until three days after you've thrown it away.

If only we could find a bottle opener ,instead of half a pack of miniature playing cards from Xmas.

Scougall is a charger for a phone you threw away two years ago and Sammon is that thing that you're not quite sure what it's for. It might have been something to do with when you had the washing machine delivered or it could be part of an old TV stand.

And Cuvelier is the object you have got in there that you have got no idea what it is or it does, just that when you open the rammel drawer you are reminded of its existence before forgetting all about it as soon as you shut the drawer

Collins is that useless nail in the bottom that you cant get out
Our entire squad is that spunk stain you wiped on a tissue and then threw in the drawer because you could hear your lass coming up the stairs.

Edit: that's unfair on the tissue, as it still could have some use when she goes back downstairs.
