Two points regarding this thread - the NHS is under attack, pure and fuckin' simple. The staff admit it, as a chat I had last week when I went in for an operation revealed. The NG is a classic old fashioned building, I had a surgeon performing major surgery on me. I was awake throughout (just over two hours) and had a local anaesthetic enabling me to chat with all concerned. The staff, in the main, are excellent. The food is poor, has been for years, and the fact that everyone, staff included, have to pay to park their cars, is nothing short of criminal. If patients wish to watch TV they have to pay. Agency nurses are everywhere, costing a fortune to plug gaping employment holes. Plus the rate of those who are choosing to seek employment outside the NHS, or health in general, is steadily growing.
Second point - regarding Coutts, I don't think the OP was out of place airing his opinion about Coutts suffering a potential career ending injury. But it was perhaps inappropriate to dip a toe into something we still have no idea about. Coutts, by all accounts, is a popular player in the dressing room, so what we should all be doing is to create good vibes rather than create doom and gloom before we know exactly what the state of play is. You can bet your bottom dollar that Coutts will be worried sick, he may even venture onto this forum. I hope the guy shows great resolve and makes positive strides in his recovery. No guarantees of course, but I hope PC is one of the players who regain full health and continues his career with the Blades. He's a top player, and what he's produced since CW arrived has been the realisation of his undoubted talent. C'mon Paul, give it your best shot mate. Your contribution to our success is integral to what we, the fans, are enjoying. It won't be the same without you on the pitch, so onwards and upwards, best of luck fella. UTMB!
