Coutts update

To tell the truth, I think we should forget Coutts for the season and not put any pressure his return. It'll help us plan and help him in that any chance of playing time before next season is a massive bonus.

Everything crossed it has no bearing on his career in general.

Edit: just to say, best case (I think) is 12-16 weeks in cast. 6-8 weeks rehab so he might see the end the season, but it's incredibly unlikely.

Whats the difference between a fracture and a break? I mean looking at that pic looked a clean break of tib and fib all day long.

Recover well Couttsy and hope this means that it's not a career wrecking incident for you.

A Google search suggests 4-6 months generally for this type of injury. Need to go with what we have but strengthen at the very beginning of the transfer window - not mess around trying to get players for rock bottom prices and end up missing out.

Coutts has been quality and will be a big miss but we have several quality players at the moment so hopefully we can maintain our form.

Does this have any affect on his old injury?
As a self appointed yet totally unqualified expert in knee injuries I would hazard a guess at no, atleast in the physical state due to the location of the break which was not immediately next to the knee, mentality wise potentially, I’m not sure if it’s the same leg as the one he did his kneecap on either of anyone could enlighten me on that.

I only say this as I did something relatively similar and my knee was absolutely fine, my leg however not so.

They're the same thing. I was surprised to learn I had a fracture when my arm was flapping about, but it's just the clinical term for a break.

Thought fracture was a crack in the bone....like stress fractures are just little cracks

Thought a break was a clean....break.

No room for sentiment sadly. I think this could spell the end for him with us if his previous recovery is anything to go by. We have to be looking for a better, probably younger replacement in January. Easier said then done but that's football.

My goodness, that's harsh. Poor lad, just broke his leg and if he or his fellow team mates look at this you've just made him feel a hell of a lot better......not.

He will be back. His previous recovery time was for a knee dislocation that fucks up ligaments and tissues. Paul has a fracture that is completely different and suggests a more rapid recovery than his previous injury.

Hardly think anything I could say would affect his life any which way tbh :)
