Coutts - is he done?

What a load of utter shit about Coutts on this thread.

There are still some that seem to think they're thinking outside the box by rating him. I prefer to go on the evidence as opposed to the hypothetical claptrap that he's going to suddenly start being good enough.

When he's not injured, he has consistently played poorly for the entirety of his period at the club.

That's what the evidence says. He's not good enough and I sincerely hope he leaves the club one way or another.

You can't he's lazy or not bothered, but I truly don't understand how you can say he's not good enough.

If he had half of Basham's motivation, he'd be our best player by some distance.

But he doesn't have the motivation which makes him not good enough. He's on the transfer list and out of contract at the end of the season. How much motivation does he need.

I am hoping wilder does find the key though but not hopeful

Coutts has been here since January 2015, over 18 months. He is a midfielder who, if you had to describe him, is more forward thinking than defensive.

He has scored no goals. Not one.

Wilder has got this one spot on and the quicker he goes, the better.

sack of shit. doesn't give a toss. Wanders around like he's out for afternoon tea. Utter twat. Very talented footballer if he could be arsed to try.

Only because hes played twice as many and had runs in the team ,Coutts is a far better footballer ,needs a consistent run without injury.

The problem is, Coutts being a better footballer is yet to be proven, and I doubt he ever will.

Coutts always looks to me like a classic example of a player whose qualities would be much more obvious if he was surrounded by other, better players. As it's been with us, so far, he's usually been surrounded by hapless twats and halfwits, whose general uselessness has magnified his own (significant) flaws and made it harder for his own (still significant, I think) strengths to flourish.

Every good midfield can benefit from a neat and tidy player whose main job is to keep the ball moving, especially from deep positions into the middle of the park, or from what used to be called the "inside half" positions. (Isn't that pretty much the job the much-vaunted Morsy did, during his last visit to the Lane ?) In a rubbish midfield, tho, that kind of player can look like he contributes little, and quite often he won't. It's not an easy job to do well, not when your team mates are hiding, or are stood like statues, or are making the wrong runs, or are concentrating on plotting against the manager, or on class-A drugs, or on draped jumpers and lollipops.

BadBuy Jr, on the other hand, tells me I'm always too generous to Coutts. Even when I slag him off :)

Fair points. I just can't understand him. If he doesn't want to be a footballer, fair enough, but surely he knows the only way is down from here.

He's got a shirt number. Neither Wallace has but Coutts - and Freeman - have. He's playing himself into favour with Wilder. We've not seen the last of him I'm afraid.

Wilder if any sense wants rid . Bit of kidology going on . Coutts - promotion . No fucking chance . Both don't go hand in hand .

Does Coutts really want to leave . Would you .

Must be a club out there who will fall for the three card trick.

I can see why Coutts has no interest in leaving - he's very unlikely to get the same kind of wage anywhere below us in the food chain. The only hope I can see for him getting anywhere like the same kind of deal would be Clough getting desperate at Burton Albion. It's likely to come down to playing football vs. finance for Coutts and I suspect he'll be willing to negotiate a Hammond style pay off if not involved. However, the shirt number and the namecheck that Wilder gave him the other week concerns me. It could be kidology as you say but it could also be that Wilder has warmed to him. IMO, Coutts' involvement = Play Offs at best, he is NOT cut out for League 1.

I think with a good kick up the arse he could be good.. it's certainly not his footballing ability.. it's how he conducts himself and the attitude and effort levels simply aren't good enough, or rather wasn't.. I think wilders tough love stance may rub off on him and hopefully we may see an improved coutts. Here's to hoping!

People on here were talking about Coutts in the same slightly disturbing way they are now about morsy and before that Nathan Byrne and owen doyle

Couldn't make a decent player out of all their best parts

Coutts is a very skilled player who is now fit, unfortunately he is defensively light, as such is here as back-up (as needed) but it is unlikely that CW would resist any approach for his services.

No approaches for any of our transfer listed players , does as Wilder says in a recent interview , tell its own story .

Where's Alcoblade??

Post number 89 on here might be worth noting....perhaps he could utilise a potential team parade with his proclamation??

Leave that one with you mate.

There are a few pearlers to be fair. Most have admitted their error in judgement however by now....but Alcoblade needs to stick to his word if you ask me.
Maybe have Mr Coutts there himself to have one shot from 12 yards at his bare arse?

Did he say he'd bare his arse on the town hall steps by any chance?

Edit: Indeed he did.

Wow, just read it.

Which is a hell of a lot more than the myopic messiah fan boys do.
6 goals in 241 games over 8 years might just give an indication it is fuck all to do with pre-season fitness, injuries, the managers you play under etc etc and more to do with you being fucking shit player.
Our cricketing correspondent shows which sport he should stick to.

My dear alcoblade, your post #89 was as emphatic as emphatic can be. The baring of your arsicles on the steps of Sheffield Town Hall was a warning/threat that many though would never be possible........but here we are, about to go up, probably as Championeees(!) and your motivational words did their trick. Mr Paul Coutts has been a joy to watch this season, as part of a magnificent midfield he's shown qualities that you never thought possible, but hope rests eternal, and here we are, doing ever so well, with Couttsy (as his mates like to call him) as integral as any player could be to our success. I know this will have filled your heart with joy and ecstasy, after all, how could it not after your warning to all of us. The thing is, when can we arrange for a camera person (gender irrelevant) to meet you as you bare your bottom to the many in Sheffield who wish to capture this moment on film forever? Please, mate, do the right thing, it's time to man up bruv (see, even us decrepit's can employ current terminology).

So, less of the silence, as if anyone can forget your immortal words, now's the time to act fella! UTMB (and Couttsy too)

Don't count your chickens and all that.......

As for the evidence, I'll do a selfie, or in this case an arsie.

:)
