I watched him closely yesterday and all 2nd half he looked shattered. Taking on water after 2 mins into 2nd half and every other opportunity. Disgraceful really for a pro footballer. Poor from Atkins also who should have replaced him with Flyyn

Well, I think he's a poor player but I thought he, along with Long, was one of our better players yesterday.

That probably sums up why we're in such a mess.

Thought he had a good first half to be honest though he did fade quite alarmingly as the second half wore on. Still poor value for money though at the moment

Not a bad player but he doesn't assist, doesn't score, has fitness issues and doesn't offer much defensively. To make up for that he'd have to be a very good playmaker and he just isn't.

Swapping Flynn with Coutts, fucking hell that's like swapping Vanessa Feltz for Grotbags

Encapsulates our problems?

Adkins and his team have done a great job getting him playing regularly - this really is worth bearing in mind.

But it turns out despite his obvious qualities in some areas he has glaring weaknesses in others.

There were glimpses yesterday of him trying to drive forwards, but they really should be more than glimpses.by now.

Worked very well with the Beard keeping possession in the last ten minutes.

In his element and looks very classy in games like Fleetwood, but we seem to have abandoned that style.

Also I think he practised his Liam Gallagher swagger in the mirror when he was a teenager.

Coutts was one of the slightly better players yesterday, in what was a pretty dire game. However, he plays like a man scared to get injured again (which is probably understandable).

I thought Done was fit enough to carry on but Coutts was becoming a liability. Flyyn for all his faults would have provided more energy on the right.

Are you kidding - he was about to start crawling round on his hands and knees. Poor bloke. I bet he slept like a baby last night.

Coutts did retain possession with the Beard, and Sammon did a decent job as first line of defence. I'd've put him on 10 minutes earlier.

Probably was Adkins plan to replace him with Reed or Flynn, but the sending off put paid to that, had to have Salmon to replace Done

Coutts - along with Basham and Hammond is the way Adkins will get us out of the stupid defeats we have had such as Port Vale/Shrewsbury etc.

Some fans will not like it, but it's the blueprint to make us hard to beat.

4-4-2 is probably abandoned - Adkins told anyone who could be bothered to listen to his post match comments after the Shrewsbury game.

Adkins has tried to be fair to the players and it hasn't worked - we will now be solid, hard to beat and will probably vary the narrow style as Bergen has written about on another thread. The beard on one side - Harris or Wallace on the other to give occasional width - but solid in the middle.

It won't be pretty - it might even be dour and boring.

There cannot be mass changes unless players agree to go - and on these wages they won't. Adkins is changing the style again to suit what he has inherited - hardly his fault but at least he is trying something different.

We should have beaten the dingles (easily) and we did beat Oldham (clean sheet).

Fans can't have what they want - it has been tried, 4-4-2 with these players was NOT working and probably would never work.

Anyway..........Coutts is staying in CM - get used to it.

I agree Atkins should have brought Flyyn on. I'd have brought him on for Bradford though.

And can't believe he plays Maceverly I think Salmon could do a better job at the back etc.
Good job he did play McEveley yesterday as he played very well.As for taking off Brayford....Bizarre

I've read on several forums that Coutts is going to be an amazing and championship standard player once he's fit.

Trouble is with Coutts is that its all past tense. Coutts isn't the player he was at Peterborough, Preston and Derby. I doubt he ever will be and I fear this is as fit as he is going to get. If we get an offer from Burton we should snatch their hands off in my view. He won't be on a small wage. Neither will James "sicknote" Wallace. We cannot afford to have players seemingly permanently on the sick or just plain crocked.

Is Couvalier still with us?

But not a bad player....

Yes - played with u/21's the other week - not sure if he is injured again though as I've not heard him mentioned since.

***Cuvelier and James Wallace appear in same match alert***

Pretty sure this is one of the signs of the Apocalypse:

"Florent Cuvelier completed over 80 minutes as he steps up his rehabilitation from injury, whilst James Wallace, Harrison McGahey and Louis Reed all got 90 minutes of action"
