Coutts FA probe

October will be fine. Send me a copy of the paper every day that month. I'll pay, of course, not being a freeloader. I'm not having the issue decided by the office tea boy.

It's not nonsense; the bias is patent, as any empirical analysis will confirm, unless of course you tip the sub-editor off, which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

I speak, by the way, from over fifty years experience, which you might, on reflection, not dismiss so lightly.

Biggs is a third-rater, at best. That's why he ghost writes for Lee 'Who?' Bullen. Lee fucking Bullen.

Ask your mate about his commentary for RS on the Crewe-Doncaster game. I had the misfortune to hear it whilst watching some paint dry. It was excruciatingly poor.
You should be able to paint better at your age.;)

LUCKY???
He's been investigated for a cheat pretending to be hurt (he wasn't, as his getting back up when he wasn't getting Coutts into trouble proves) after a bit of contact.
It's a contact sport, pretending to be hurt is NOT part of it.
Yes. Lucky.

A flailing arm to the face is plenty enough to get a retrospective ban these days whether you like it or not.

Look at the reactions on this thread after Foxy put the clip up... everyone was saying it was a certainty he’d be getting banned

Not everyone Danny. Twenty yards away in real time it didn't look half as bad.

Half the comments were about the wrong incident, which looked worse (and which I missed on Saturday) to start with.

Sorry, not everyone - some thought so. As for your "everyone" comment - would you care to offer an explanation as to why the 3 footballing experts who looked at it thought differently to the "everyone" that thought he would certainly get banned?

In conclusion, it's a good job our fans aren't on any decision making panel.

We'll have to agree to disagree then.
Saw the video clip and it's never a red card on this earth, even in today's girls game that we seem to have taken on. As a red card is all you can get a retro for then I am happy he got justice and wasn't "lucky".

Full strength against the pigs it seems. Jesus I've got a boner bigger than a lion. Can't wait

Got to agree with Sean Thornton and Fulwood Blade danny. Just because a few posters agreed or appeared to agree, well it doesn't stand as a majority decision, let alone a unanimous choice.

Personally I'm delighted Coutts is back and able to play, I bet Wilder feels exactly the same way (as I'm sure you do deep down, go on, you know you do!).

Now all we have to do is learn how to contain our curiosity about who else is fit for selection.....good thing we have Wilder in charge, he'll take this right to the wire..........it'll be one game where the players won't need motivating, Billy will have sown the seed of attrition and we'll get the balance between playing great football and Custer's last stand just about right. No quarter given or asked! UTMB!

Can I offer an explanation? It's because in the week before a derby game three quarters of the posters on here turn into neurotic little girls.

If the Third World War was announced in five minutes I can guarantee the first post on here about it would be 'does this mean the derby is cancelled?'

We don't actually know if all 3 did think it wasn't worthy of a red to be fair – as it's a unanimous decision needed a majority of them might have thought it was.

All I can say in seeing it is that I've seen players of ours sent off for less in similar instances where there's been an arm/hand to face.

But who cares ultimately – I am delighted if not surprised that he's available on Sunday!

Available in all good newsagents. I'm too busy making tea to do your work for you.

You have 50 years experience in journalism and newspapers? Great effort!

I personally wouldn't say it was an incident that was worth a ban but with the FA as harsh as they are, often when it comes to us, it wasn't beyond the realms of possibility that it would be a 3 gamer and it seems most people on this thread at the time went along with that.

A flailing arm which can be seen as an elbow is often a very easy one for the FA to act on, especially considering the ref hadn't seen it (like nearly everything else in that game)
