I have not followed the Scottish international team recently although I seem to recall they are not doing very well. Frankly the way Coutts and Fleck are playing I do not think they can be that far off at least making the Scotland squad. What do others think? Not sure it would be good for us as it mighty start Championship or Premier League clubs sniffing around if they are not already. I would have thought both these players could play comfortably in the Championship at least. I would hate to lose either in the JTW.

The absolute worst possible thing that could happen is for ANY of our players to get picked to represent their country.
Given the way fate conspires to fuck us up the aforementiond probably will get selected and suffer season long injuries during their first game.

The Scotland squad is full of Pigs so I'd give it a wide berth. I didn't used to mind little old Scotland trying to qualify for the tournaments and failing, then the pigs signed a load of Premier League failures from up north and now I just associate them with filth and squalor.

Rather our players play for us and not be used too much in a season. It will only make them more tired as they will have more matches to play at a higher intensity. Hope they don't get picked

Scotland :D:D

Bet they're both searching their family trees for Irish great-grandmothers.

I'm sure Scott Brown, James Morrison, Darren Fletcher, James McArthur and Matt Ritchie are quaking in their boots at the prospect of league 1 players threatening their places

Slipped me that Coutts was Scottish...

Gerimaht!

I said this weeks ago.

These two have the ability to match those lot. However, as they are showing it in league one it will mean they have to continue to show it in the Championship and beyond.
Luckily for us, the football hierarchy ignore whether someone might be good enough and just look at where they are playing.
Matt LeTissier being a prime example. If he'd deserted his beloved Saints and gone to Man U or Liverpool for example he would have got a hell of a lot more caps than he did.

They are all singers aren't they? In fact Jim Morrison has been dead for years but James Arthur and Lionel Ritchie or is it Shane Ritchie are still going strong.

Doubt it. Funny Little Gordon prefers to stick with the tried and tested custodians who've done nothing but fail recently. A lot of international managers are like that.

Jamie Murphy should be considered before Fleck or Coutts though, and even he seems nowhere near.

Brown out injured. Wonder if this might give either of our Scottish heroes a chance? He'll probably call up McDonald instead!

I'd rather he did!

No extra games for either, no further exposure highlighting their talents and they may continue to strive to get a call up by continuing to impress throughout the international winter break.

I'd be amazed if [at least] one of them didn't get called up this season, unfortunately.
Both are better than Barry 'where is my banjo' Bannan and he seems to be in and around the national squad

And how the fuck Jordan "went to school in Scotland for 3 years" Rhodes gets regularly called up I don't know.

Much as i don't want any of our players possibly being injured playing for their countries, it is a reward (on individual level) for performances. Having said that I think Strachan has something against United and won't pick any of our players anyway.

Wasn't he accosted by someone during the Cup run to the semi-final under Clough regarding Jamie Murphy and he did one of his ever so funny little quips?
