But it’s not

Somehow we’re going to theirs with a 1 goal defecit. Only takes a spozzy ball from a corner and it’s all level.

They’re not Brazil, no matter how much we continue to let them play like they are. If we actually get stuck in and take risks we can easily beat them.

Shoutout to League One Wes though. He’s fully earned his shirt for next season.

Agreed. Dodged a bullet today. Surely w

Agreed. Dodged a bullet today. Surely we can't play as poor on Tuesday night. All to play for UTB

Fck me , are you ok lewisham ?

3-1 as most chances went wide or straight at Wes down the middle, much like Egan's chance in the first half. He either had little to do or routine saves and he couldn't do anything about either goal. He only had a couple of genuine saves to make.

Could have been a cricket score to them. We got lucky.

We did, but you know as well as I do by now that luck plays a significant part in football and we've had enough shity luck over the decades to have earned a bit going the other way.

Personally I still think they will have too much on Tuesday, but as it stands they could feel just as frustrated as we do tonight.

Jesus Christ man, give him some credit. He’s kept us in it. It’s all about positioning.

Don’t know who’s more disappointed, us or them. They should’ve buried us and will be annoyed we’ve got a sniff. And we’re fucked off at the result and performance.

I'm not slating Wes mate, calm down. I'm just saying that Forest's chances weren't all that. They had a lot of poor finishing overall. When the keeper is stood in the middle of the goal and a shot comes right at him, he should save that 99/100 times. That's crap finishing not amazing goalkeeping. He did well on some others but a lot were routine saves that you'd expect him to make.

They’ve had about 4/5 gilt edged chances. We’ve had none.

We did all the attacking and has better build up play. Forest sat back defending most of the match

But the irony is our positive play played into their hands. They looked so dangerous on the break mainly because they exposed our lack of pace. Egan, Robinson, Stevens, Norwood and Fleck are so slow and they had plenty of runners.

Was impressed that Forest didn’t time waste or use gamesmanship. Overall it was an entertaining high level game.

Might sound negative but think we need to sit back in the 2nd leg and turn it into a non event. Then hope for a piece of magic from Ndairye….treat it like Fulham away.

None of their chances were from attacking. It was us doing the attacking and all their chances came from breakaways.

Their manager Cooper used great tactics and played to our weakness. Thought we played high tempo and pushed Forest back for the first 30 mins.

They scored from their 1st attack and almost scored again from their 2nd attack but their defence was much the busier. They always have numbers back snd defended with ease really.

Doubt they’ll use the same tactics at their place. Expect them to be more attack minded with us having defenders back all the time hoping for counter attacks.

Their team is quicker though and suited to the defend in numbers then counter attack style.

They’ve got a good defence. Turn it into a non event then they’ll stomp on us.

We need to take the game to them and get one, then possibly I’d agree.

Fairly spot on there..they put us under a lot of pressure when they broke at pace. I would have liked us to not hold the line so far up. We got away a couple of times. Overall we didn't control the middle of the park or create enough clear cut chances. We need some big performances next game. We also need to be quicker on the line to make changes to counteract the problems we were facing.

Could last weeks team turn up instead. They were much better than the imposters on show today.

Last weeks team have turned up a grand total of about 5 times this season. Hence we’re having to make do with the play offs

I thought we played ok but they were better, defensively and tactically. The front three didn’t get going but again that was too Forest’s credit. I’m not distraught, but it will take a lot to overturn it.

Aye woulda coulda shoulda. That seems to be the story of our season. Which in itself tells its own story that we simply havent been good enough
Don't disagree at all. But look at refereeing decisions generally in this division. How many penalties or goals have we had chalked off because the officials were shit? I'd imagine it would be enough to stick us in the top 2... and that's with that abysmal start too.

It's not inconceivable to think that we can go there and do a job on them.

2nd half performance minus Egans error and we'll be in this.

Id be so pissed off if I were Forest

Played shit, but they didn’t capitalise. Only one goal in it now. We really have nothing to lose, they’re going to be twitchy as fuck as well.

Thought we were totally outplayed and lived off scraps....however ....early goal on Tuesday and we go again....not inconceivable but unlikely....

Totally agree. We were diabolical. But it’s only half time and all we need to do to take it to extra time is beat them in 90 mins by a single goal.

I don't think we were diabolical LB

I think we were tactically naive. Couple that with a couple of defensive mistakes and that's what you get

It's a play off semi first leg. My opinion is that we should've played a much tighter game. Keep it as tight as possible and try to nick a goal. Instead we played our usual league game tactics and went for it, leaving us exposed to their counter attacking game, which with their pace, not only are they good at it, but we should've known this. We don't want a two legged tie to be over after half hour of the first leg, which it nearly was.

As a side note, I don't understand why we have to put the sprinklers on 5 mins before KO? I know that the pitch has to be kept watered to maintain pitch stability, but does it have to be just before KO? Players slipping all over probably cost us that first goal
