Agreed - we need a big improvement form corners next season.

I know we have a couple of "older" strikers, but bringing back Doc Pace would be a bit extreme.A delivery with pace and a bit of movement would be a good start first.
I propose that we get the groundsman to paint the white lines on the pitch so that the perimeter is a big oval rather than a rectangle. Then we wouldn’t have to bother with corners.I propose that we just let the opposition have a goal kick instead.
We’re as likely to score from that as we are from one of our own corners.
Alan Gilzean was the master of that.Whatever happened to the corner to the near post and flicked on with a back header? Not seen that for years. Used to work really well.
Back headers from corners, jinking wingers, slide tackles in the mud, jumpers for goalposts, beans on toast for tea...
Isn’t it?
Scored from a decent move from a corner on Tuesday.
Came to comment on that. Not only did the second Evans goal vs Boro come from a corner, it came from a SHORT corner.
I would like to add throw in's into the mix.... We just give the ball back to the opposition every time!I propose that we just let the opposition have a goal kick instead.

But what made that was Brooks's ability to put the Boro defender out for a goal kick.
It’s not just us. Opta stats show that only 3.2% of corners lead to a goal.

This article is a good read and answers a lot of points made on here.

By eck Bert! I remember that too! Is that why he had a prematurely bald head?Alan Gilzean was the master of that.
He did it against us when they scored in 1971 from a Chivers throw.By eck Bert! I remember that too! Is that why he had a prematurely bald head?
Boro also capitalised on this with their long throw bloke.
Its a technique that (apparently) can be taught. Why don't we have someone who can arrow a chuck in from the byline into the six yard box? You'd imagine it to be Stevens's and Baldock's role.

Leonard has a long throw. Used it at Southend. But I don't suppose we could play him just for that or could we?Boro also capitalised on this with their long throw bloke.

I was thinking this during the match as well.
They have been utter shite this season regardless of who takes them.
