Just didn't go our way today and the last week has caught up with us, but it has been an excellent start to the season. So many plusses, but there are a couple of areas I'd like to see us working on in the international break.

Corners. What happened? We were actually dangerous at corners last season, but we seem to have reverted to our normal hit the first man or pass to the keeper. I'm assuming we no longer have height advantages against bigger stronger Championship teams, although we had JOC, Basham, Stevens, Wright, Lundstram, CCV and Clarke on the pitch today. If this is the case, I'd like to see us be more inventive with corners as we have been with free kicks.

Defensive headers from our own box: We've given a number of chances and goals away this season due to not getting the distance or direction needed on defensive headers from our own box. It's been different players as well (Wright, JOC, Basham etc). We need to work on it as all too often the ball just goes straight to an opposition player outside the box and you simply can't keep doing that at this level.

In what has been an amazing start to the season, those are the only major concerns for me.

I think our corners have generally pretty good this season and under Wilder. Loads better than before.

i think our free kicks are excellent, very inventive, but i do agree with the op, our corners are not great

If we had conceded a 30 yarder and missed a pen today ,youre major concerns would be long rangers and pen :tumbleweed:

As a centre back Basham is portobello the worst header of a ball I have seen.

That said, he hasn't had a bad season ..... still think he is better in midfield though. ( sorry, wrong thread )

In all seriousness, our corners have been average for 2 games in a row and defensive headers should all go at least 50 yards.

I'd like to see us take more short corners, we have the skill for it.

If we want to be better at corners there's a simple answer

BIG JAMES HANSON

We aren't allowed mistakes or the odd miss hap anymore.

Stop being so picky and enjoy the ride ffs.
Correct.

That is how it goes on here. Some can have a laugh and a relaxed view on our club and bask in the position we are in. Others, will find the smallest faults and just feel the need to share them with everyone.

All good though
