You're having a bit of a shocker here.
How so? I've stated what I knew would be an unpopular opinion but I should be allowed to make a point without being abused, should I not?

I don't really see where you've been abused?

Am I reading that right?

I thought I was one eyed but I can see that compared to some Blades, I look like a lilly livered neutral.

For that you win the 'bigger Blade than me' award for the month of December.

Oh come on, get real.

Jesus. Seriously. I really wonder about some of our fans.

the bitterness from some is embarrassing.

Just because none of them name me these are all insults.

If you really want to be abused you need someone to start a thread entitled 8lade is a wanker ;)

You may be surprised how many sensible people come to your defence, but then again .......

Player placed leg in front of an incoming boot in order to win a red card???

It's does not warrant insults (not that I've seen any) but it does warrant ridicule.

Your skin must be thinner than a condom, wait till the real insults come in.
I'm not saying any of them hit home, one of my mantras is 'the only people who can hurt you are the ones you care about,' and that's particularly unlikely to be the case on a message board.

Insults?

Are you really serious?

The first wasn't just aimed at you and neither of them were particularly calculated to offend.

I observed that some Blades are more biased than me. I don't particularly see that as a problem, but if you want to be insulted by It, then so be it.

Sadly, only lemsip at the moment
Not you an all. I thought I had flu but further investigation suggests that it may actually be an upper urinary tract infection.

Having said that my physical capabilities are now improving and I won't get an appointment today so we'll see what tomorrow brings before I decide whether or not to involve the professionals.

Get well soon old chap.

You think me asking ‘am I reading this right’ is an insult?
Maybe I read too much into that, oh but look at this somebody accepting they might have been wrong on a message forum, that's a first.
Did you ever work out whether I said Smith intentionally tried to get injured or not?

If you can't understand what he is saying, or if you have a different point of view then you're insulting his intelligence.

Don't worry though, you can't hurt him because he doesn't care for you.

I care enough to know,I can never love you

I'm just wondering how fast Smith's reactions must be to put his foot where Fleck was sliding from having won the ball?

If he could have moved his foot, but didn’t, then he left it there intentionally, no? Doing that would risk a broken ankle or worse. I was merely asking if you genuinely thought that.

Jesus! Me too! Just because somebody has a difference of opinion from Davalon he wonders about them. Well I wonder about you mate based on this message. You're entitled to your opinion and me mine so fucking wind it in.

Your opinion is laughable and based on no factual evidence whatsoever.

Ok I've taken a step back and have decided to rise above the snide remarks and will now argue my point:
My opinion is based on watching the incident and I watched it as I was typing my comments to be sure. I know most people make up their mind and will not change it but If you can point out where my opinion of what I saw falls over and it's a good argument I will change my mind but at no time since watching the incident do I think Smith made a realistic attempt to get the ball.

Ok, as with Davalon I shall now argue my point:
Smith runs toward the ball but does not make an effort to play it or block and arrives later than Fleck he just gets to the space where the ball was, of course he's going to get caught. Fleck gets sent off, I'm assuming for having his studs showing but they aren't high he's just played the ball on the floor and there was nobody there when he went to play the ball. So are players not allowed to go for a loose ball now in case somebody steps in late and gets caught?

For starters you took objection to my comments as being aimed solely at you. They weren't. If they had been I'd have replied to your post.

In fairness you're not the only Blade suggesting Smith milked it. A few on here have and a few on other sites were yesterday after his goal against Man U.

I can see no valid reason or argument to assert that Smith exaggerated the injury. Fleck was off before the trainer had even started attending to him properly so he had no reason to carry on his 'feigning' and be subbed. And he quite clearly got caught.

Impact injuries don't have to mean a player is out for a week let alone more.

It's just unnecessary criticism of a player for no good reason.

The problem with this scenario is Fleck was within his rights to go for the ball and he got a good touch on it Smith arrived after the ball has gone and gets caught, automatic red, Smith never had the ball, he's run into trouble (so to speak). Why did he go off? I'd suggest and we won't ever know for sure but to reinforce that it was a foul which I only agree with given that showing studs is a dismissable offence. I didn't see the shots of him showing off his bandaged leg to the cameras but again that is reinforcing the 'I was fouled' stance.

Like the disgraceful challenge on Baldock at Leeds. He played against QPR four days later. Doesn’t make it any less of a terrible challenge
Baldocks was a different type of foul, he has the ball under control and plays it, the tackle comes in too late to be anywhere near the ball. Although the scenarios are different, in both cases the United player is the last person to play the ball.
The Fleck foul it's 2 players going for the ball I feel that Smith made a lot more of it than it was.
With Baldock, Phillips had no right to challenge for the ball, he's late and comes through the side of Baldock- he's never getting the ball without the man.

My point was about those screaming Smith can’t have been injured as he played the week after. Baldock was nailed and played four days later. It doesn’t mean anything

Baldock stayed on, Smith had the whole saga of being injured, couldn't walk (a week later playing football?), had to be bandaged, manager says he's not the sort etc. The whole thing smacked of play acting and justifying the dismissal of Fleck.

Fleck had been sent off by that point... wasn’t any need to justify it

Hadn't realised there was an upper tract :o
