Jury still out for me believe it or not. Despite his obvious calmness and better on the ball. He haven’t had a great save to make yet to keep us winning. Not complaining but he has been superbly protected
Wrong spectacular saves at Pompey to earn a point

Cooper has made some great saves the one at pompey was World Class .Reliable the defenders trust him we trust Him.
Absolutely obviously some on here didn’t see it. He was doing this with his former team week in week out. Ask the Plymouth fans

James Beadle conceded more goals in one half of football than Michael Cooper has all season. Michael Cooper has played 990 minutes of football. Do not compare them.

I don't know how to explain it but I usually have a sense of comfort or distress with the back line \ keeper combo, obviously last season was last season but I'm begining to relax slightly. Coopers been great between the sticks but because of that back line he's yet to have much to do. Nice feeling.

We’d have faired far better last season with that back 4 and the way they play not that I think we’d have stayed up the gap was and still is too big imo

In the oderngane that system of a back 5 is an invitation to be penned Inside your own half as we saw at Leeds

It's dead
Funnily enough notice the pigs have been playing it
But a 3-4-3-1

Michael Cooper is best we’ll ever have 🤷🏻‍♂️ he oozes class..,
Ever have, not sure? Don't get me wrong he's made an impressive start and looks like he has star billing status, however:
Alan Kelly, Simon Tracey, Mel Rees, Paddy Kenny, Dean Henderson and Adam Ramsdale are formidable recent Blades keepers. I agree he has the potential to be a Blades legendary keeper, time will tell.
Out of that list of greats Coops reminds me most of probably our best keeper we have ever had, certainly in my living memory. Cool, calm, commanding and agile as a cat. Alan Kelly.

No keeper then? No wonder they’re shipping 6!

It’s a bold strategy, let’s see if it pays off for them

To be fair we've not seen much from Cooper, in the way of saves.

I'd say it's his linking with the defence, knowing when to stay on line or come off his line that's impressive.
Also when any defence are under pressure they often prefer to pass back to the keeper
and again Cooper is impressive at receiving the ball to either his left or right foot. He catches every cross with zero fuss.
It's his general air of (Dean Henderson like) confidence that helps make our defence seem to so calm and composed.

In contrast Wes was a great shot stopper, made some good saves for us but his decision making regards when to come off his line or stay was inconsistent and when receiving the ball at Wes's feet always made me feel nervous, thinking the ball would roll under his foot.

I remember a LOT of recent discussion about his knees, playing at a higher level etc. For me he is flawless and his character is fantastic.

Was talking today about him not bouncing about like zebedee or screaming at everyone (Joe Hart/nob head at Everton).

He is an integral part of the defence and the attack when he receives the ball. Improve his distribution and he could go all the way).

Partially agree but Tracy had a stint where he was unbelievably brilliant, at the time we had 2 excellent keepers which was like Shilton and Clemence perhaps not quite the same but a very hard decision to drop one that said I believe Bassett made the correct choice eventually if only for consistency.

His confidence absolutely ouzes into the stands, I know if he lets one on it will have to be an exceptional goal.

to be fair and to Wilders credit too, the defence has been awesome, he must love playing behind them, they all seem more confident too knowing he’s the last line of defence.

Hard to imagine we could have had Tracy & Kelly at the same time as both were brilliant.

The best Blades goal keeping display I ever saw was Mel Rees at Everton.
We'll sadly never know if he could've sustained those levels. As you say we were spoilt for keepers for many years.
Coops has the makings of a Blades keeper legend but we'll need to go up to keep him.

The best keeping display I have ever witnessed was at Wembley 93. The pigs unfortunately put us to the sword that day and if wasn't for AK they would have embarrassed us. The next time we went to the sty was the only time I can remember a Blades keeper getting respect.

I've never seen a Blades keeper with better hands. He collects it so easily every time and never looks like dropping it

He is excellent at coming for crosses.

Plays it out nicely.

Only seen him make one really good save at Portsmouth. Other than that he’s not had much to do and anything he has he’s done it well.

Someone ( not me ) should be able to come up with a song for him to the tune of ABBA Super trooper

Super cooper
Blades have come to find you
He’s our number one
????
???
If you can find it a couple seasons ago there was a video of that song where argyle players were dressed up as ABBA. It finishes with hardie and cooper as the two girls

I concur. Best goal keeping display I have ever seen. It would have been embarrassing without AK, he was magnificent that day.
