Jury still out for me believe it or not. Despite his obvious calmness and better on the ball. He haven’t had a great save to make yet to keep us winning. Not complaining but he has been superbly protected
Always said this being in and around football. Having a top keeper makes that back line solid. Gives them confidence to take necessary risk to drive forward, keeper is only man on the pitch who can see whole pitch so the constant director snd commander of his defence. Thus far I've rated him, happy to receive the ball and make himself known.Has he made a save yet?
Don’t know if it’s coincedence but since Cooper has played the defence has gone up a few notches. We don’t look like conceding at all.
Wes was a great shot stopper but poor at decision making knowing when to come off his line and poor distribution when the ball was passed to his feet.
However Cooper is so calm and comfortable receiving passes to either his left or right foot. This makes such a massive difference to the defence.
Made a good save from a header at Norwich before half time.He haven’t had a great save to make yet

2 mistakes in total, iirc. One v Leeds and another on Saturday v Stoke, but both went unpunished. I'm comfortable with that, given his age and experience. He'll have a clanger at some point, but he has been really good. My heart rate doesn't increase at all when he has the ball, or when it goes near him. Hasn't happened since 18/19 (Even Hendo was prone after that)He’s done well when he has had to. Not really put a foot wrong.
But let’s face it. The clean sheets stats are down to the lads in front of him who have been outstanding.

Couldn't agree more,! The frustrating thing is all 3 of our banned players are picking up silly bookings .Best back five in the championship bar none. Cooper is calm which is excellent attribute for a goalie - the Souttar and Anel pairing though so far this season could not have gone better, both are intercepting the ball like Prem CB's.
Superbly protected by a defence that lacked confidence in Grbic. No worries now.Jury still out for me believe it or not. Despite his obvious calmness and better on the ball. He haven’t had a great save to make yet to keep us winning. Not complaining but he has been superbly protected
It’s chicken and egg. A keeper will always look better behind a good defence, but a defence will only look good if they have confidence in the keeper behind them.Superbly protected by a defence that lacked confidence in Grbic. No worries now.
I think they get benefits from playing together, but Cooper being the last line breeds greater confidence in them individually and collectively. It’s chicken and egg. A keeper will always look better behind a good defence, but a defence will only look good if they have confidence in the keeper behind them.
Sorry mate. I can only listen to The Crab when it comes to fundamentals of goalkeeping. As a keeper by trade, the one pillar all GK's need to succeed are solid fundamentals. Cooper has them so he looks unflustered when going for the ball.
If the fundamentals are there, then everything else (great saves, etc) are plusses but without fundamentals there is no base on which to build you own GK personna.
He is going to be an excellent GK with superb fundamentals.
