Now, I am not ready to throw myself off a bridge due to the fact that Murphy has gone. He was pretty good at this level and capable of playing in the division above. He wasn't an outstanding talent like some that have gone before him. I am more disappointed by what the sale represents. That is, the continual degredation in the quality of our squad.

The quality of our contemporary best player just continues to diminish. Murphy isn't as good as Maguire, who wasn't as good as McDonald, who wasn't as good as Quinn. Quinn wasn't as good as Walker. Whoever our best player is now, isn't as good as Murphy. I couldn't even tell you who our best player is any more.

In order to retain a modicum of trust from the fans, the club must now do what it has never done before and replace our best player with a better one. It is easier this time because, as pointed out, he isn't as good as the previous player to hold the title.

Murphy isn't all that, but he was our best player. This is an unfortunate representation of where we are. Please Blades, spend the money on something better this time. We cannot afford to remain where we are, or the quality of our players will perpetually worsen.

Great post. However, I would be more disappointed if we sold Done who I think is miles in front of Murphy. Overall, I agree with your point.

It's a commanding midfielder if reinvest in though. I think we can cover Murphy.

Agree Alco . Murphy over Done , but its a good job he his injured or would both players be sold. That another question.

The bottom line is we didnt make promotion last season. Adkins rebuilding of the squad , will see more players depart both good and bad ones , out of the door . The crux is , we have to hope Adkins is in control of this, and not the board . If it was the board , his position could become untenable , as he would be the monkey not the organ grinder.

Sometimes the only way to go forwards is to go backwards first. ;)
Ah, the old springboard analogy. Little did we know that we got the only Bolsa wood board in the shop.

When it comes to a replacement, United usually leave it 2 or 3 months to see how we cope (usually not very well) or in the case of someone like Harry, we give it a season.

Yes I agree as in that there has been a continual degredation of the sqaud. As we get lower down the football levels, our players get worse, and out of them the better players of a worse bunch get sold....and that cycle continues until......
