My main concern about this signing is the potential for misspellings of his name. I've already seen Connor Sammon, Conner Sammon, Conor Salmond. The first of those by our co-chairman...

One thing I would say re: Sammon is that it's a bit odd we've been able to merely get him on a season loan. He's got a year left on his deal, so he's in effect being released, when surely they could have recouped a decent fee for him now. He must be on a high wage to have made Derby want rid in this way - one we will likely be picking up in full.

He's not good enough for the Championship. If we signed him, he'd want more than a year contract (probably 3), and we aim to go up. We get him for a season, get out of this league, and sign better.

Great bit of business for the club. Quick, powerful, athletic, will do the harrying Done does (and I think Done will be out for a while), but also add the height and power. He'll not be prolific, but will create loads. CBs are slow in this league, chase them down and take advantage of their mistakes.

I'd say they havent wanted him for a while as he was on loan all last season too.

The reaction to this signing is very mixed but IMO he will bring some much needed steel and bollocks to our forward line something we were lacking last season , I know he's not the most gifted footballer on the planet nor does he score hat loads if goals but he has played at a higher level than we find ourselves and will be a perfect foil for Sharp, Sparky and Done , and with higdon looking trimmer and fitter the forward line is looking more healthy but like I say it's just my opinion UTB

Steve Davies was 10 times the player Sammon is. He showed at Swindon what he could do ,and looked a decent player in previous games. Fitness was his problem not ability.

Yes, having been injured for the first 2 months of the season, he's now scored 5 goals in 8 games.

Same about the 17 game non scoring drought before that.
