Heard a whisper that we could be getting this lad in.

Predominantly a right back. Think he had a spell at them lot too last year.

Anyone heard the same?

What is it with right backs? This lad, the trialist and the las from walsall....?

Would be excellent at this level.

I doubt we'd get him given Westlake and Mumpaya.

Nah, but it seems there may be a contract on the table and I'd expect McMahon to be first choice, so would be surprising if we'd invest in Westlake as backup.

Maybe Westlake is expected to play further forward...

I think he would be played further forward, and would be a potentially quality signing for this league if it happens. All that despite his previous loan clubs ;)

There's one or two on rumours on BM that reckon he's signed a 2 year deal! :D

If he has, Wilson has done exceptionally well to convince him to drop a division

And someone will be eating a hat live online...

According to Rob Staton, McMahon's sister has tweeted that Tony is signing for us....

She's said he's already signed. In reply to 'your bro left boro?' she said 'yes..he's just signed 2day for sheff united..x'.

My mate, a 'Boro fan, says of McMahon:
He's fantastic, cracking defender, great crosser of the ball, heart of a lion, bags of energy and a beast of a setpiece on him. Love him to bits, absolutely devastated to lose him...

Sounds like both him and Westlake could play right mid as well as full back. Should allow DW to maintain us attacking down that flank with an overlapping full back with some combination of Westlake/McMahon/Flynn

lane legend in the making then :D

Odd that he left 'Boro really, it was a dispute over terms but surely we can't have offered him more?

Boro fans I know are in uproar, but that's mostly because it now looks like they'll offer Justin hoyte a new contract.

They described McMahon as a once promising, pacy prospect, but a succession of injuries have reduced him to a slow clogger? They did say he takes a cracking free kick though
