What? There was a reason we got rid the first time round.
 
It's a tough one to get excited about, but considering I had given up on signing anyone, at least it's a player! Forte's OK, but admit I was hoping for better.

Is he a Blade fan?
Is it 'one for the fans'?
Will he play up front or on the wing?
 
To be honest,he's not done bad at this level with the clubs he's been with since Warnock released him,scoring against us at least once,but who's next ? Tyrone Thompson? Ian Ross?
 
When he came through the juniors into playing for the first team he looked more promising than Jordan Slew did. He was certainly fast and had an eye for goal. Unfortunately I think we pushed him too far too soon. He then suffered a confidence loss and faded away until he played for Scunthorpe. Let's see how he is now rather than taking a dislike to him before he gets here.
 
Can someone please confirm that it's April 1st. This is a piss take, isn't it?

We've found each others level! I remember a game (can't remember who we were playing) when the score was 1-1. With a couple of minutes to go Forte had a chance six yards out and he skied it - wonder if he's got better since?
 
Welcome back and good luck to the lad but I don't think 41 goals in 263 appearances qualifies Mr Wilson's summary:

"His goalscoring record is very good and hopefully he can improve that back in Sheffield with us - he is undoubtedly a player with great potential."

A goal every 6.4 games. Yes I hope it does improve or will those 3 goals til the end of the season be enough?
 
He looked pretty shit hot against us for Scunny. He was still quick, but had bulked up substantially. That was about three years ago though, or so it seems. Let's see what a sustained period of inactivity has done for him!

People do seem to forget that we are complete s***e now, and I think he has improved as a player. I actually am glad we have him on loan and not permanent, he's a slight risk but has a half-decent record at this level. He must have got better.... He must have..... surely :s
 
Forte is certainly fast, got to hope other aspects of his game have improved but still it is only a loan so I'm not at all impressed.
 
Well he's certainly better than nothing and let's give him a chance. It is a little bit underwhelming though..
 
What a fuck up, Forte fast ? Fast to go out the fucking door i hope. What a bunch of spastics in charge we have, I fucking knew it, said it earlier we would sell blackman and replace with two shite fucking loans. Watch for another shite loan of O'halloran / cofie's level
 
This is so bad it's funny.

A week ago, if I had to name a signing that would represent how far we've fallen, what a laughing stock we are, Forte would have been on the list.

Pure comedy I can't wait to hear the defence of it... :D

Hand on heart I would have preferred nothing. I'd rather play youngsters.

I actually think Forte is alright for this league - scores the odd goal, has pace, and from an SUFC point grew up with the club. But he's certainly not the answer we're looking for to really replace Blackman either on the wing or up front for what we need right now.

On pure numbers, Blackman in 6 months scored 11 goals. Which is more than Forte has managed in 24 months.
 
He brings nothing more to this side than what we already have in the squad. IMO of course.
 
"He has great potential", so perhaps it's not the one that wasn't good enough for us before?
