that must mean baxter will be playing up top!

I wouldn't say so, it'd be an option but I think we'd play Cuvelier in the deeper role instead alongside Doyle/Coady/McGinn with Baxter further forward. That way, we've got 4 players who can play in the deeper role and 2 who can play just behind the striker.

The key thing is that it would bring us great strength in depth in the middle of the park, which we have lacked for a long time.

all we need now is for a central defender to get injured, then we're proper f*cked :D

Give over. You're making me think we're gonna win the league !!

The lad was linked with some of Englands top clubs a few years ago. Obviously he hasnt made the grade but i would like him to sign as im sure he would tear up this league!

Exactly! We desperately need competition at the back.

Haha, wouldn't say that mate. We're still a striker and a centre half short for me...

Frankly the pair of them are of such quality that they should be first choice in their preferred positions and let the rest fight for the scraps. Cuvelier is a CM - if we get him (please) he should play there. At whose expense? Don't care! Jose Baxter likes to play a Bergkamp role just behind the striker. Again, that's him sorted. The rest will have to fit in.

My mate rung me tonight and says "we're after buying Maurice Chevalier" I said "Thank heavens....." :tumbleweed:

Then he says " sorry, I meant Courvoisier" I said "that'll be a double Brandy" :tumbleweed:

Then he says "sorry, I meant Cavalier" I said "I know we`ve APPROACHed him" :tumbleweed:

It's a good night from me.

And the taxi's on it's way.

Cuvelier is a very good player, hopefully he didn't watch us today because he'd have second thoughts.

Where have you guys seen him play Cuvelier?

Can someone tell us what to expect?

He played for Walsall against us and I thought "what is he doing playing in L1 and for Walsall"

As Wards says a proper footballer, we'll be lucky to have him.

That compilation proves the boy can play.

Desperately hope this happens

twitter rumors (i know) saying he's signing for £100k... surely not?! bargain and half if true

Get this lad in and dare I say Wilson as well and things will be very exciting the BDTBL. These are the types of player who can make an impact going forward should we achieve promotion as they are good enough to hold their own in that league.

That compilation looked very good. Some direct running, clear pace, trickery, control and vision.
Proves he can also use either foot to strike a ball cleanly.
Looks to me he would be an excellent addition to the team - prefer if he was a permanent signing.
When I say 'addition to the team' I mean "replacement for Murphy"

As for Murphy he needs to beef up and get some balls or go and play in a league where men don't play.

Apparantly, McCabe said yesterday before the game that Cuvelier was set to sign after the game

Wasn't known by the poster whether it was a loan or permanent

Here's hoping he follows in the footsteps of other great SUFC Belgians, Axel Smeets and Davy Gysbrechts, and in the footsteps of other former SUFC greats known as Flo.

My feeling is that we're waiting to confirm all signings at once.

Shield has just tweeted that this is complete according to 'sources at the Britannia Stadium'.

i have had a look on their forum and they believe its a done deal but they're hoping its a loan move over permanent, so must be highly rated!
