That doesn't really answer my question.

Though before my time, you could argue that Dave Bassett was a very successful and popular manager with us. If like your say Wilder talks to Bassett he doesn't have to take advice about tactics or his "playing philosophy" there's plenty more to management than that.

No fucking about this time. SUFC appearing strangely like a professionally run football club!

Got to say, the biggest disappointment for me yesterday was announcing a new manager so quickly. What happened to our right to start rumours about everyone from James Colliver (Sheffield FC manager) to Jurgen Klopp joinging us and to be able to debate the pro's and con's of each before slagging off everyone who turns us down or we turn down as shit????

Wilder was a good player. A stylish, cultured full-back. I used to really enjoy watching him in the juniors. He was one of three or four excellent players - Marsden and another blond lad (Ashforth or similar name?) were excellent and proper footballers.

As a manager he's a proven mediocrity who likes to hoof it. Shame...still I suppose he's good on a night out and remembers names.

So was long ball entertaining whilst we had Agana and Deane? I felt so most of the time.
