[CONFIRMED] Bye Bye Boggy - Blackpool

Good riddance after what I've seen so far this season. He's put no effort in at all when he's come off the bench.

Let's hope that this goes through. I have always quite liked Bogdanovic, but he has been frustrating at the Blades. He showed glimses last season, but has been disappointing overall. Shame, as he looked a decent player at Barnsley. This season he has looked lazy, not interested, light weight and not up for the fight. This might free up a little bit of wages to strengthen in other areas (probably a loan singing) or even try and hang on if there are last minute bids for other players (living in hope!?).

Can't see us bringing in any players before the end of today. I suspect Wilson will look to bring in a short term loan (a defender) and a couple more loans (a striker and a goalkeeper - an ideally a winger). I expect to see a few of the younger players (Long, possibly Harriot, Coneely and basically anyone not challenging for the squad) go out on short term loans to lower division clubs to get experience.

Would the 'loan singing' be to help out the choir on the kop? ;-)

Cannot believe Blackpool want boggy! at what point has a blackpool scout watched him play and think "yeah this lad is top notch for guiding us to the premiership again" :s

Confirmed - Undisclosed fee.

Not sure how Boggy summoned the energy to pick up the pen! :)

Or the shirt for the photograph, I liked Boggy on a good day, but they're too few and far between.

Good Riddance, the bloke was a complete waste of space, resources and energy.

Last season when was in the midst of a relegation relegation, i was astonished with the complete lack of effort he appeared to put in.

Thought he was a shit player, had a heart the size of a pea, and for me he will always be one of the leading lights in the worst Blades team in my lifetime.

Has he gone because we our shirt sponsors aren't visitMalta.com? We only signed Justin Haber because of the sponsors. Boggy looked far too lightweight - we could have sent out a skinny homeless for about the same end product. Shame he didn't do better, but at least it will free up some money. Whether Wilson gets to spend any of it remains to be seen.

Not that i'm cynical about these things but we've just signed a mechanic from Gilders

couldnt agree more, so that probably means he will score shitload of goals and help blackpool back to prem. DONT YOU JUST KNOW IT.ie ward, sharpe, hulse so on and so on.UTB

Of course, we could always hold out for a fee, then when no one is willing to meet it, we could then pay the wages of said player to sit on bench and therefore ultimately lose out.

I get the impression your boss may have good business sense after all...

trust me houso,he aint that bright were buisness acumen is concerned !

whatever we think about boggy, he was yet another player signed by blackwell and plonked on the bench, would,nt we all start to sulk and appear to not give a fuck in that case.

Not on several grand a week I wouldnt.

There's something about Boggy that always made me feel that there was a player in there somewhere, and that we should give him a run. That seemed harder and harder to justify as the months rolled by and he offered next to nothing. I've got a feeling he'll do well somewhere, but based on his time here, you can only judge it as half a million a year off the wagebill for zero effect. Next stop Chedward.

I never really go the feeling about Boggy playing for us. Seemed to be like Brian Howard. Big time player at a small time club like the dingles, but did naff all for us.

Ched will come good now...

Howard, Leighterwood, Britton.....all players we wrote off as beneath us who went on the be key men is a promotion challenge last season. Our (lack of) style of play has almost ruined a few other careers along the way.

I don't think anyone has referenced how often Bogdanovic got caught offside, which was a lot. He also seemed very unfit and not capable of playing 90 minutes (did he ever??)
I think Danny Wilson has done a great job getting rid of him for a fee!

And a few players have failed to step their game up at United.

Legs of wood, howard and Britton I wouldn't exactly call them key men last season.

Britton played just 17 games for Swansea last season.

....because he spent half of it at United, surely?

I remember listening to the play off matches and those 3 names cropped up relentlessly, with the commentators gushing about their contributions. By no means world beaters, but before and after their time with us they have proved decent footballers.

Britton went on to play premiership football. Evans went on to have a rape charge save him the indignity of failing to cut it in the third division.

Yep, but you made out that all 3 were "key players" when in reality you admit that you base this on the 3 play off games.

you're right, Britton is playing for a PL team now, but Howard and Legs of wood aren't.

Not sure what your point is on Ched (in this thread at least)

Maybe I've complicated it. All 3 have proved to be far better players before and after, than they showed for us, that's all.

The Ched reference is just a little dig that you don't seem to accept the obvious (above) yet are convinced by a striker who will cost us £6Million pounds and for a minimum of 70% of his total time with us (it will eventually become 100%, no doubt), has demonstarted in front of our eyes that he is completely rubbish.

Ched will come good.

Britton has proved to do well at Swansea, but Howard and Legs of wood - sorry, they haven't really pulled up any trees at all.

I get your point though, you think that players do better after being at the Blades - yes some do, but many don't. You have to wonder why they don't manage to do anything for us, just the same as many do well for us, then do nowt after us.

If you believe some on here, Cotteril was the best player we've ever had.

The 3 that you mention, plus Ched, plus Boggy, all seem to have issues with their attitude. No Bollocks to step it up and adapt their games to the Blades way, just as much as our game stifles them.

Boggy is has a lot to prove at Blackpool.

I only think this holds over the recent period. On average I think it it's a bit of a myth that we undersell. But our non football under Blackwell ( lack of ANY style, not in pinchy's sense) and at the arse end of last season brought the worst out of quite a few.

I'm aware this could apply to Ched too. The difference is that most other players have demonstrated some strengths at some point with us, even if we've failed to exploit them. Ched stands alone in showing absolutley no positive qualities whatsoever*.

*Unless a hard shot into row Z counts.
