As I alluded to in the other thread it seems our fanbase are willing to accept three years of utter dross from many of our players as they put a shift/are honest/are hardworking (delete as appropriate) but new lads who have made the odd mistake (Brandy) or have not kicked on yet (Cuvelier) should be straight out the door.

Brandy and Cuvelier get better and better with each game they don't play ,because when they have played they have been dogshit.

so where will Brandy play if Murphys in ?
and who would you play Cuvelier in place of ?

I hope 24hr loan recalls are in place for this deal & Cuvelier's imminent loan

Another permanent body out and yet another fucking loan signing in no doubt. I remember what happened the last time we went down this route.

Don't see the sense in this at all.

Hopefully we'll be able to field 11 complete cloggers soon then it'll be mission accomplished for NC. Baxter out next...

Will we need another winger if Diego is getting back to fitness and his scoring ways already? 2 goals from him for the Under 21's against Coventry in a 60 minute appearance last weekend

It was the U18s and it was 30 minutes :p

In all seriousness though, he wouldn't be an option on the left/right of a midfield four.

I'll wait until I see who we're bringing in before I judge this move. He's been a frustrating player and contributed little on the pitch so it doesn't surprise me that we've done this. Also, how do we know he's only being "frozen out" by Clough because of the Shrewsbury incident? Anything could have happened behind the scenes that we don't know about. He might have reacted badly to a fine or the fact he's been told he needs to buck his ideas up after that? Who knows?

Good riddance.
Not really contributed much & it seems he may have been a bad influence behind the scenes. (Hence him moving on)

It must be said though that we desperatley need a couple of incomings to freshen up the squad.
The first 11 virtually picks itself atm with competition from no-were.

What about the bench though? I am guessing Whitehouse has impressed Clough more than Cuvllier, yet was a another player most were willing to chuck under the bus.

Who plays wide if something happens to Murphy and/or Flynn, remembering both loans we won't be able to recall until at least 28 days.

And about Baxter too...

Yep, you only need first 11. No point in having a bench really if everyone in the team has their places set.

To be fair I think our Nige is a man implementing the Ajax/Spain way and expects players to be able to play all positions so anyone could play on the bench. After all, we don't play with a striker.

McGinn has covered on the right a couple of times but I can't see that being a long term solution. He must have something lined up, whether it's a signing, a loan or giving one or two of the youngsters a chance.

McGinn down the right with McMahon overlapping will be fun to watch. Let us hope it's true about this Murphy lad at Norwich (although it sounds to familiar to a O'Halloran style signing for me)

The problem is that although Nige is getting the squad down to a manageable size, the team is not getting any better.

January 2011 - "Once we get rid of rubbish like France and Bogdanovic, we'll be ok"
January 2012 - "Once we get rid of rubbish like Ertl and Taylor, we'll be ok"
January 2013 - "Once we get rid of rubbish like Williams and Cresswell, we'll be ok"
January 2014 - "Once we get rid of rubbish like (everybody), we'll be ok"

It's not ideal in anyway, I just noticed that he'd done it a couple of times and wondered if he might be thinking along those lines.

We've been linked with a couple: Murphy, Luke Williams from Middlesbrough, so who knows. He can't be as bad as O'Halloran was, surely?

It doesn't look great as it stands but it might be look better in a couple of days if we do actually bring somebody in. If not, it's literally going to be a bench full of kids at the weekend.

Doctor blade too long will see you shortly.

Trouble is Raul, we're like the pillocks that go to car boot sales. We turn up with a boot full of rubbish and get rid of it, but then buy other peoples stuff which is more rubbish than what we arrived with.

Just waiting to find out that Porter, Doyle, Collins and Hill have been given new extensions

Brandy has done more than make the odd mistake though. His 2 red cards in 15 apps is a bloody scandal, especially for a brand new signing. He has offered nowt.

Neither have those taking his position in the team. Flynn and Murphy have been here what, 2 years and 1 year respectively? You can count on one hand the number of good games they've had in their time with us. They are rubbish and after those two we have no replacements save for a central midfielder or two playing out wide. It’s a ridiculous decision in my opinion.

Oh and for the “let’s see who we sign first” brigade, are you kidding me? Have you only recently started supporting us? We won’t get anyone, we never do.

One of my Derby supporting mates reckons that everybody would get a chance with Nigel Clough, but if they didn't take it, they'd be finished at the club. That would seem to fit with Brandy and that's good enough for me.

The crux of it for me is this.

Club chasing playoffs re-sign player who played an integral role for them the year before despite departing in somewhat acrimonious circumstances. The likelihood is that he will be considered as a first team player.

Meanwhile, said player leaves a club fighting against relegation who have few options; and pretty much no one else akin to him left in the squad.

Interesting that in one of our better performances this season against Notts County, Brandy played a key role in breaking them down. We lost on Saturday didn't we?

I'm not saying he should get a free pass because he can do a couple of tricks. He's an idiot at the end of the day. But you take the rough with the smooth and I'm afraid we've done ourself out of an option there and left ourselves slower and more ponderous as a result.

Disappointing Mr Clough.

I for one hope he's not pinning all his hopes on the young boys. Kennedy, Whitehouse, De Girolamo, Khan, Eyre et al. They deserve a chance, don't get me wrong, but they are not the full answer to the problem.

Agree completely on the Murphy/Flynn argument. Neither has performed consistently enough in the time they have been here. Maybe it will be a mistake to let Brandy go when we have little back - up, but I cannot see as though it would have made any difference keeping him, either.

Brandy has pace but he seemed too keen on throwing himself on the floor whenever he was tackled.

I hope it isn't because I have heard a lot about how good he is and seen nothing to back that up.

That's it then. They must be shit.

After all, both of them were shit at their other clubs and there are no other clubs wanting them on loan.

Throw 'em both in the skip.

It's okay though, we've players like Doyle and Porter who have been consistently brilliant for us over the past few seasons o_O
