Let's see what happens with the money if he does go before we make any judgements
I think we all know what'll happen to that money if he goes. Down that never ending blackhole leading us to b*m f*ck nowhere.

Maybe de Girolamo will be our saviour.

3rd club (championship club mentioned) looks like it might be Leeds if Becchio leaves Elland Road

Just checked out the sky live feed and he looks like he's agreed to sign for Reading. Better than him going to a Championship club, and definitely better than him going to dirty leeds. How many players have we sold to that shower over the years?
I'm amazed at the number of people taking the "OK to sell if we get the funds to replace" position. It NEVER HAPPENS. Why would anyone think it will happen now? We sell, we weaken, we get worse. That's how we have done things for years, it's how we come to be where we are now.
I really don't care if we sell or not, the type of player I really want to keep and build around are long gone from the club. There is not one player who is now indespensible. Just a motley collection of lower league journeymen and unproven youngsters.
Blackman has got qualities worth perservering with but my main concern with him (other than his total inability to use both feet) is that he isn't a "goalscorer". He scores lovely goals, now and again, but where are the tap ins from a couple of yards that real goalscores do for fun?
However , the biggest surprise on this thread is alco's volte face, from calm club pragmatist to rebel with a cause. Everyone has a tipping point it seems![]()
Hasn't he been told he can leave? If he does go to Reading, is there any chance we can have Jay Tabb as part of the deal. He'd do a hell of a job in the centre of midfield for us.
I still doubt we could even afford him, but even if he has been told to leave I don't think he'd particularly wanna drop down 2 divisionsHasn't he been told he can leave?
Never fear. I'm sure there's a method to the madness!!!!http://www1.skysports.com/football/...e-with-Sheffield-United-striker-Nick-Blackman
Fee agreed.... cheers Kevin
He probably will be, but sadly it's a lot more alluring than being at Bramall Lane. The lure of more money is a big draw as well. We simply can't compete with the likes of Reading anymore. Sounds wrong doesn't it?
Like Wilson will see a penny of that money!Assuming the fee is the reported £1.2M that should get us a great couple of proven League 1 players. I'm oddly excited by this departure![]()

I know what you're saying puppet, but, if he doesn't then McCabe has nobody to blame but himself if we're still in this God forsaken league again next season!Like Wilson will see a penny of that money!

I take it your tongue is firmly in cheeck there. The process goes like this;
Await last minute deadline
Sell half decent talent
Make fee undisclosed
Divide fee by 10 and give that part to manager
Scrap around for other players who are sold last minute for no other reason than nobody wants them.
Other than that, this is really exciting.

Blackman is easily replaced he isnt exactly banging them in.
He's not Messi
Why do we build up players that may be leaving into something they are not? Sit near me on the Kop and listen to others slagging him off as greedy or lazy
I regard him as one of our better players perhaps using the word star is inappropriate. Erm off the top of my head cannot remember but united do have a long history of selling our better players and not replacing them until the loan market
Well you don't tend to get many offers for your shit ones.
Blackman is a forward, being played out on the wing so he isn't considered one of our best players by the management. If you're being the manager and trust his decisions you can see the logic behind accepting that money for a square peg.
