I know for a FACT we have accepted a bid and Nick is currently in talks with Palace about a move.

If this is indeed true it would be a shame to see him leave, however if its a decent offer and we invest in other areas (Midfield) then I would happily lose him. Yes he is the top scorer, however to me he seems to have been found out by every full back he comes up against, he's too much of a one trick pony for me. I've found him far too selfish of late as well and not making the best decision going forward. Having said that though, when he does seem up for it he can be pretty handy.

top scorer, ever present.... what message does that send out to the team if we sell

Plenty more fish in the sea. No doubt our management/coaches/scouts have a few players on their shopping list for just such an eventuality.

We sell players. We buy players. It's what all football teams do.

After the recent poor performances maybe the team would benefit from a shake-up.

Don't care either way if i'm honest. The club could easily say no, but if DW/board think it's a good move then he'll go.
It's how this club works. The team are slipping down the league, so, we'll sell our leading goalscorer. Makes perfect sense.

We sell decent up and coming players with potential for an amount far less than other comparable clubs would then we but has been, no mark, fat useless replacements over and above the odds. It's the Blades Way, don't yer know.

Fixed it for ya

Problem with Blackman is he is either good or shit, he doesn't do anything in the middle which is a shame. Passing would certainly be a good learn for him

'Tis true - "he doesn't do anything in the middle"
He has been more effective when played wide - but as ponies go his trick is pretty much as obvious as Danny Webber's was.

He will be missed. He is the only player that runs at defenders - although it remains to be seen if Murphy can fill that particular void.

What is Danny Webber up to these days? Washing Warnock's car or something? Maybe he could do a job?

This is bad news if true, but you wouldnt blame him if he went, and it isnt uniteds fault that he`s attracted interest.
The big test is if utd are willing to be open for`sensible`offers(1.5-2m)?
Or will utd have the bollocks to stop all approaches and realise that by selling our leading goalscorer is sacrilage.
Again.

I love your optimism gav. The combined fee for both would probably be about 400k!! With add ons if either team got into Premier League within the next 1000 years!!:(

Get them slip on shoes out of the wardrobe,as I have a feeling we may be needing them shortly for a visit to the car park...

I reckon we more or less swapped Slew for Blackman plus cash, with Blackburn, which has to be excellent business. I personally think he has great potential, with a good attitude and selling him now would be complete madness !

Perhaps this will be a litmus test of Utds true commitment to building a team of talented youngsters who can push onto the Championship and beyond?

UTB

A team of talented youngsters with Cresswell, Doyle and Kitson hmmmm

Sky reported an interest by Palace; probably re-arming with Zaha leaving them. Good at penalties, but has he got potential. Sell or keep?

You get 250 Nigerian Naira to the pound these days so £6-8k would be about it.

If we get a decent enough offer... take it, in my own opinion Blackman has seemed to be very overrated by the fans. Very inconsistant, always seems to lose the ball far too easily and is very greedy and most of his shots sail into row Z, although he takes a good penalty. Take the dosh if we get it and spend it wisely, the young winger from Shrewsbury, very quick and skillful from what I've heard. Also look for another striker in a similar situation as Miller was for Crewe... Pretty sure people weren't happy we payed only £60,000 for a striker unable to get a game in League 2 after a huge dip in form. What happened to the Walsall striker we were supposedly after? Personally I am clueless to why Diego hasn't had a minute worth of playing time in the league (if he's that good). Or maybe Danny is hiding something from us because he knows there will be interest if we play him :D

What everyone has to remember as a football fan, you are purely a spectator and everyone has there own views on football and a preference on what you like to see, you see a total different game from every angle of the ground.
In my opinion Blackman does not work in that team at the moment, so if we can sell him for a profit and we get the funds to try someone else then we should go for it. We need to try things now and not think maybe in a year he will work.
