Well being out of the FA Cup has done us the world of good hasn't it.
Good we can concentrate on the league.
We did crap in the 3rd and 4th rounds....oh now they were league games weren't they, Bollocks.

If we we had beaten Bolton in Round 2 we wouldnt have got 3 points at Southend, and we did'nt play today. Not sure what your point is?

No we'd have played in round 3 and possibly four. The point being the Cup does not detract from league form. we've won 1 lost 2 and drawn 1 in around cup weeks.
Around the FA cup weeks rounds 1 and 2 we had our best results of the season.

but we won several on the bounce around round 3. in fact was a fabulous run after going out of the cup

The fact is the FA Cup is a useful scapegoat for a manager who fucks up and loses to a club they really shouldn't have. Oh, we can now concentrate on the league! Bollocks I would give my right arm, left leg and whatever's left of my brain to see United to win the cup in my lifetime. A good cup run is never going to be detrimental to league form, it's just a bullshit excuse.

Only cup I'm interested in right now is the one with tea in it that il be drinking very shortly!!

Will we win the cup? No! Therefore I couldn't give two fucks about it.

If/when we are in a position to mount a serious challenge, then I'll get interested in it.

glad we didnt play oxford today , it was a good day for them

I was thinking the same. We don't know how we'd have performed
But it would have been tough with Oxford having a day when all their players performed.

boo radley is right though, there were loads advocating the cup being a distraction to the league and were glad we went out of it, I rubbished this at the time.

The cup can give players who can't quite get a game some crucial minutes of professional playing time and help get players coming back from injury etc back into the first team plans and if you carry on winning it breeds confidence throughout the entire club, it's doing Lincoln no harm.

It can also get you crucial funds in, to help get better players in. I'm not for one second saying I don't think we've done well in the transfer window but with extra funds in from the cup I'm pretty sure CW will have gone for someone else other than Hanson up top.

Plus our record of reaching round three of the competition has now gone, which as a club was something to hang on to when times have been shit as a club of our stature over recent years, hopefully being in round three will be a given from next year onwards.

In short, going out of the cup, did us as a club no good whatsoever in every aspect but i suppose its each to their own.

We always do well when in a cup run

In fact most of Uniteds better seasons have involved a cup run

I can't believe that the only major honour that it is possible for most clubs to win and they disrespect it so they can try to escape relegation or achieve promotion
