What a bloody awful article. Wrong on most things - a section in the middle about the way we play is alright, suggesting he's watched a game or two on telly, but the rest is cut and paste taking snippets from old articles with a good dose of old stereotypes and assumptions. The author knows lots of words but doesn't know how to use them. You can't just throw them in because they sound nice, they have to be applicable and mean something. For example, "They may be flying under the radar, but they won't be for too long". We're fucking second. The radar must be broken.

We won a league title and an FA Cup in the 1800s.

We won 3 further FA Cups in the 1900s.

So far we haven't won anything in the 2000s, but there are still 80 years to go.

He refers to an article in the Guardian from 2007, where apparently Wilder talked about keeping it simple and about team motivation. He falls back on that several times in his article, ovely relying on it to explain Wilder's success.
