The Low position column isn't quite working at the moment - party due to port Vale having 3 games in hand - mainly down to shoddy coding from myself...

so according to that we have the easiest run in in April?
Hope so!
From my quick calculation of league position (at the moment!) of opponents,we play opponents who total 177 in league position, Fleetwood 153, Scunthorpe 151 and Bolton 165.
Our remaining opponents are lower down the table than the rest of the top 4
5 of our games against teams in 20th or below, Fleetwood play 3, Scunthorpe 2 and Bolton 3. :)

Has anyone got a league position graph by game played. I bet thats a lovely image

Not got the last two games on yet...

A slightly less scientific way of looking at things at this time of year: if the number of points a team is adrift is equal to or greater than the number of games still to play, it is strongly likely (though not impossible) that the deficit will not be overhauled.

Applying this analysis, Southend in 7th have 15 games to play and they are 15 points back. This suggests that our worst case scenario, unless something odd happens, is the playoffs.

Quoting myself from 3 weeks ago, we have now hit the point where the points gap for teams outside the top 2 is the same as, or greater than, the number of games still to play.

Scunthorpe - 11 point gap, 10 games left
Bolton - 12 point gap, 12 games left.

That makes promotion strongly likely....

Surely it's between Fleetwood and Bolton for 2nd now. ;)
I agree, last nights 3 points were humongous. Not just for points on the board, but the message it sends to the other teams ahead of the weekend, during which we don't play, is ominous. The chasing pack can get whatever result they want this weekend and they wont feel like they have made any ground, they are chasing shadows.
