I was really looking for a comparison with 1983/84 season

Just one point better off than that season, with a poorer GD. However, there's no Charlton running away with it. Even if we are pipped by the 2016/17 equivalant of the Pork (Fleetwood), there's still going to be a 2nd place up for grabs.

No one would trade our position in 2011/12 with our position today. We're far better placed for an auto spot.
