Compare SUFC with Watford and Charlton

Hey... it wasn't where Linz was coming from. I didn't offer an opinion. It was something raised by a third party who has contact with the club as a question arising from the fans forums. They wanted to know how United fans compared the running of the club to other teams, such as the ones we came down with.

I merely asked the question :)

During the next three years, football will take a hammering as the ripples from the global recession continue to rock the boat. If we still have a Sheffield United to compare with other teams at that time, I will be very grateful and what's more, I'll put up with KM and TB not giving the answers everybody wants at the moment.

And i'll be at the Lane with my season ticket until the day they have to carry me there, then and only then, will I think about stopping going.

Looks like my pre match positivity is rubbing off on you already ;-)

Didn't stretch to the next table though......;)

As for the thread as a whole. I would never dream of comparing us to either Watford or Charlton. The only thing we share is a date of being relegated. It is how we arrived at that position that determines where we are now, not any comparison afterwards.

Not strictly true. We were promoted at the same time as Watford then relegated at the same time. Also, all 3 clubs will have received parachute payments at the same time so will have been in relatively similar positions financially. Obviously we get higher crowds than both but attendances generally aren't a big part of a football club's income nowadays.

Watford had an underrated team I thought- Foster, Young & King were all excellent players although clearly the rest of the team weren't prem quality. Then again you could've said the same for us, we overachieved. If King hadn't been injured and Young not sold in January they may have put up a better fight.

The question didn't come from the club and it is a genuine one.

One you haven't really answered...

You can't get a simple yes or no out of lenners, so don't even bother trying to get anything with more depth to it. He'll believe his own bollocks regardless.

If only life was as simple as 'yes or no', I guess you'd find it much easier.
The problems of SUFC are not 'yes or no' problems and they definitely are not dealt with by a pointless exercise in working out whether we're better off than Watford or Charlton.

The only "yes" or "no" I wanted was to the question of you attending the Q&A sessions. I appreciate life and football is more simple than that, but as you can't even grasp something that simple there's no wonder you know little or nothing about everything else.

If only everything in life agreed with your own very narrow view len. You'd find everything much easier. Sonny.

Sadly, you thought that whether I had or hadn't gone to a fans forum would provide some closure for you regarding United's problems.
Shooting the messenger is a favourite pastime among those who struggle to grapple with the more complex issues.

No, I just wondered if you had gone or not. That's all. You've no idea what I thought. I just wanted to know if you went. That's all. Call it curiosity. Sadly, you can't even answer that.

And as far as shooting the messenger, well, sad to tell you lenners but the messenger ain't you. How can it be? You didn't go. You're just a poor interpreter of second hand news. Like the Sunday Sport, but without the tits and Nazi bombers on the moon.
