I'm not sure why you think the club is being made a mockery of? They haven't announced anything as there's clearly nothing confirmed to announce yet.

Releasing a statement or holding a press conference saying "the manager is talking to the board about his future" adds absolutely nothing to the situation. So what exactly is it you'd like them to announce that will add to what we already know?

The club didn't hold it's contractual pre-match press conference yesterday. It was moved three times and then cancelled. How is that not looking incompetent?

In the same way, the club made a statement about Mousset. It said next to nothing but it just confirmed something.
They made a statement about Mousset as they had something to report and the club would be making no more statements unless the situation changed, so was in effect finalised. An incident happened, the police were involved, club are dealing with it internally. Nothing to add unless the situation changes.

This is an ongoing situation which the club will address once there is something finalised to announce.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we've handled it well or particularly look good, but i'm always a little baffled by the calling for statements and comment without the knowledge something definitive or finalised has finished occuring.
End of day he's either left or he hasn't this is no good to the club or fan base.

Or the other states are he's on his way to leaving, or on his way to staying. All of which could realistically change if not set in stone yet.

Frustrating yes and I absolutely get your point, but clearly neither 'party' in the conversation are currently ready or able to officially state their position right this moment.

It's also, as much about the message going forward, regardless of the outcome. Release a statement with the 'current status' and we'll be calling for a statement as to what next.

If they are currently discussing his future and he may leave then then club officially announcing "he's still manager" followed by "he's left" an hour later that is far more embarrassing than saying nothing until the situation is resolved.

I get your point entirely Foxy but I'm just a tad fed up of how fans are treat by club, seen it for many years Pete

I don't argue with Blades but we need to know ye or nay if he's gone, if nothing coming out then how do they plan for the future. I think what we do have here is 2 very big ego's trying to battle it out, and neither will to give so much as an inch ATM.

If there are negotiations going on around contract terms then it would be unwise to issue communications until these are concluded or when an impasse is reached as it may affect the outcome. It seems the Club have been keen to get out the message to sources that a sacking has not occurred. That in itself would imply a contract term is a point at issue.

I doubt it has happened but it may be both parties are reviewing their positions. Again ill thought out rushed communication will not help. It is interesting that the usual sources on twitter have gone quiet suggesting both sides have locked down leaks for the moment.

My experience is if you are in dispute and wish to fire a shot across the other parties bow in response to adverse criticism you react quickly and get your message out there very much like the Club did with McCabe when he was making statements about the land behind the Kop. As you move towards concluding the matter you lock down all forms of communication so both parties can agree on joint statements. In CW's case that is likely to include an NDA.

I sincerely hope when all this is over there is a detailed message on the way forward for the Club and not some meaningless statement that includes the sentence " whilst recollections may differ" :)

true just makes the laughing stock of a season even worse. Only positive thing is the media is giving us a lot of love.

So Chris Wilder currently has 3 possible states.

  • He’s leaving and terms are being discussed
  • He’s staying and a compromise is being discussed
  • He undecided and everything is being discussed
This is a simple one, zero, null mathematical problem, we could apply Boolean logic and write out some truth tables, then use probability mathematics on the results to assign a probability to each of the possible outcomes, updating out data model as each new datum comes along.

Or we could sit and wait for the club to make a statement, wildly speculating while we wait to pass the time.

I know which one I’m doing;).

I've been reading BBC HYS and never seen so much love poured on fans or CW, very critical of club though.

While I understand and feel your frustration I’ve got to echo the other comments about there’s nothing to communicate and fans don’t deserve to be told anything if there’s nothing to say. Everything you could put out has an obvious follow up question, so it’s not like a statement takes the sting out of it.
For all we know things could be at a very delicate stage, and if all parties are talking then let it continue.
Of course if it’s a done deal and they’re simply discussing payoffs then you’d expect something soon but nothing is coming out at all. Local press have nothing or are also keeping schtum.
That would suggest it’s rather sensitive and isn’t leaking for a reason.

Bob I'm in his camp don't want him to leave but now reports that they are trying to reconcile differences, that I'd like to see I don't want to see him gone as he's best thing for us in a lot of years. I will just have to sit back and like rest of fans wait till an announcement, but never seen owt like this.

Go back 40 years and we'd barely have known anything was happening other than a rumour from some guy down t'pub that there were rumours that not everything was right. Then it would enter some fantasyland where people are talking about Iranian trans individuals buying the club and you would know none of it was true.

To avoid creating another thread (and there are already multiple threads about the same thing), I'll put this here.

What a shitshow it is that over a day after our manager has reportedly resigned/left by mutual consent/quit and not a word from the club.

Absolute joke. Amateur hour again. Why can we never do anything right?
Maybe they have nothing to report

Whatever happens with this typically incompetent United mess, there needs to be better communication between the Prince and whoever is our manager going forward.

They seem to rarely communicate, which seems a bit mad to me. Especially since it's clear what the long-term plan of the Prince's is at odds with how Wilder wants to work. Which mean they're incompatible, but they've surely both known that from the start of last season?
Surely the owner abroad and the manager don’t need to communicate regularly. That is the job of the CEO.
Once the broad outline is agreed then the rest is detail at local level.

Samantha was Iraqi.

There would have been no need to say anything if someone had not leaked it in the first place???
I doubt it was the club
Exactly this.

Everyone is blaming the club, but to date this all stemmed from the Talksport announcement yesterday morning. This whole thing could have been dealt with behind the scenes with an announcement (or not) when it was settled.

Whoever started this shitshow and announced it to Talksport is at fault. There's nothing coming out of the club, so draw your own conclusions from this.

They could report some team news since the club has failed to have a pre-match press conference and who is in control of the team for the game in less than 22 hours time?
Maybe everyone has left so we don’t need to play it as the youngsters are not in the bubble ?

Biggest question is will Knill take the game tomorrow? Its been Knill taking training so far.

Until we are told either way he is simultaneously our manager, and not our manager. Schroedinger’s CWAK.
