in an ideal world who would you hope we have got shut of and who will we have brought in...

names and estimated fee's too if you would..

Just curious to see peoples thoughts? as many names i've seen mentioned or fans have wanted us to be in for i believe we'd have near zero chance of signing due to our budget, wage restrictions etc.

No one will go that we want to go. We need a striker in NOW

Now McDonald's gone i wouldn't be disappointed in the slightest if anybody left.

Players I would actively try to get rid of are Higginbotham and McMahon. Both will be on a decent wage and neither bring any real benefit to the team in my view. I doubt we'd get a fee for either, but I would like us to use the wages, (together with the McDonald fee and wage) on a decent attacking, creative midfielder.

I mentioned Jose Baxter a bit back and a couple of others have since. I've no idea how much he'd cost, but it would be money, instantly ruling him out in the real world.

Williams, Higginbotham, Porter & Doyle out (all high wage earners and can be replaced by better, even though Doyle has played well so far)

Whitehouse, Ironside & other young uns not in our team (Kennedy, Barry etc) out on loan to gain experience (with recalls).

Baxter from Oldham, Hansen and Wells from Bradford in. Would also push the boat out (with McDonald cash) for Powell at MK Dons (all teams in our division - so realistically we should be able to sign, given our increased attendances etc than those clubs).

Also a couple more quality loans (centre forward & central midfielder). Not sure who's around or available but would have to be someone in Prem or Champ who can't get a game at their club.

Obviously getting people in is reliant on shifting players out. And you did state ideal world, which we know its not!

Me, neither. In particular I would drive Maguire to the first club to offer a half-decent fee. He is nowhere near as good as we like to think.

i agree, any offer received in the region of £1mil he should be off! i reckon we could find a player of his ability for much less albeit probably not as young, but vitally the rest of the money could then be invested elsewhere

Sell: Higginbotham,Porter, Ironside (Loan), Whitehouse (Loan)

Wish we would have bought: Luke Freeman or Darren Ambrose or Jose Baxter or Leon Clarke

It's pointless being specific because we don't know who is available, what we can afford and who Weir even wants. We need an attacking midfield player and a centre forward mainly. The former should be able to run with the ball and pick a pass, the latter should be able to hold the ball and link up with those around him.

In terms of players out, anyone on a decent wage that isn't playing regularly.

we wont' bring in anyone..forget it
i used to have faith in McCabe but since the KMac thing i've decided we're being deliberately run into the ground on Portsmouth lines.. sack the board.

I would like to give a mention to Fox, the Norwich midfielder. It is very unlikely that he will play much this year, and you would think given he is 29 he would want first team action. He has been mentioned here before and could be just the job.

He has experience of this division, and available for a modest fee? Would Norwich pay him off / do a deal he must be surplus to their requirements.

Baxter from Oldham is a decent shout and Freeman would be a popular signing.

Hope Miller is back soon to fill the striker position. Can we find a raw young talent from a non league team? A young fella who has an eye for goal and pace. Take a gamble on a one year deal with an option to extend.

Ironside needs to go on loan for experience - he does not look like he will score ten goals a season and that is simply not good enough.

We need to spend some money.

Good shout, but that wasn't Norwich you were scouting this morning, it was forum football! I've never played for the Canaries.

I am sure I saw you with that dreadful away shirt on. Had to rub my eyes as you looked like a canary.

Hope to catch-up with you this year Foxy, at an away game sometime this season.

With the exception of Long I couldn't care less if anyone left.

It is pointless speculating on who is available as the chances are that we wouldn't have the money available and whoever we would be bringing in would be the chaff that nobody else wants

I'd offer a trial to Somen Tchoyi, a 6'3 skilful and fast attacking midfielder. Did well in Norway, then played in the premiership for WBA. Not too keen on a 30 year old, but feel we're desperate for some quality and he's without a club I believe.

Anybody attended the open training session? are the rumours on twitter true? are Carl Baker & Jake Jervis there training ?

will be interesting to see if anything happens with porter, sounds like some clubs are after him. dunno what they know that we dont? but we cant get shot of him till we get a better replacement with no money, ah onwards and downwards then!
