I live in the States and get referred to as 'Englishman', even been referred to as 'limey' on occasion. I don't mind at all, in fact I quite like it. I refer to my colleagues as 'Crazy Yanks' most of the time and again, no offence meant and none taken.

The biggest reasons are that we respect each other, we have a sense of humour and we aren't boring fuckers looking to point score and find offence in everything that's said and done. Life is really short, try lightening up a bit and enjoy it.

It was Yusuf Giansiracusa who held the press conference announcing Hecky. The Prince was nowhere to be seen, in line with what he had said would happen, back in 2020/2021

From a business view I would say the Prince has managed the club reasonably well.
When you look at clubs like Everton with over 500 million debts and up the creek without a paddle if there takeover doesn’t happen. The prince has worn a sensible business head.
We knew we were not good enough for the Premier league as soon as promotion was confirmed. However the money will benefit the club.
We can’t all have rich parents. The reality is the Premier league is not a British league, its a world league, eventually that bubble will burst and what will be left

To answer your question, yes, I think if I was trying to buy a football club in a foreign country, I think it would be more than reasonable to expect to be described by the clubs fans, media, and well, anyone really, as "an Englishman". I can genuinely say that I would not feel even slightly offended, much like anyone else who is accurately described by their nationality or skin colour if it is relevant to the subject.
No doubt they'll be more than happy to leave it to you and the 'permanently offended' to get upset on their own behalf as, like me, they won't give a shit.

Have another go. Maybe you can think of something slightly more intelligent to say to defend your 'internal hurting'?
