Colour Blind Kit updates

Welcome news, but you would think irrelevant to us

I’m not colour blind so forgive me if I’m wrong but I can’t imagine it being a problem with our striped home kit?

Most teams have second and third kits these days. To make things ridiculously simple, one should be light and the other dark. Use whichever is opposite end of the spectrum to the home teams kit. Done.

They use that rule in internationals, and you had the farce in the opening game of one of the recent World Cups where both Spain and Netherlands were wearing their alternate kits

It could be sorted easily if we went along the lines of American football and other sports in the former colonies. Each team has a coloured kit and a white one. The home team gets to pick what colour they wear, the visitors have to wear the opposite.

If the FA made a rule governing kit colours it would save all this third kit nonsense, which is primarily to rinse fans of more money. And prohibit visiting teams wearing their change kit when their normal kit doesn’t clash with the home team, like Chelsea away at Man United or Tottenham, for example.

I'm not colour blind but so I can't imagine what those people struggle with, but surely running left to right or right to left is enough?

Not true, sadly. Especially with the solid backs they have on most modern kits - it's still a nightmare.

In a ruck of players from a corner or free kick it's still extremely difficult to identify, at speed, between say a team wearing red and white and a team wearing green. For me at least anyway.

Absolutely awful when we've played the Pigs and both teams have worn their traditional stripes.

Let's just go full Serie A tinpot mode and have a new kit every game

Fuck number 8 and number 10 as well, I want number 77 and 92

That makes total sense, completely forgot about the other teams that also play in different coloured stripes too 🤦🏻‍♂️ Cheers for the explanation

When JLT or Carter-Vickers run back and wipe out their teammates then folk might wonder why you’re the only one applauding.

Once you learn about the NFL and one team playing in white - it makes so much sense and is easy to implement. Another quirk is that Rugby Union teams - the home team play the 'away' kit if there's a colour clash. I'm sure it's down to tradition - in the olde days the home team would be able to use the alternate colours from their dressing rooms, whereas the away team might arrive with only one kit.

But in the NFL you don't have teams with a 100-year history of playing in stripes or hoops (which could clash with both colour and white).
Our 20/21 shirt was predominantly white on the back, so a team that normally plays in red couldn't realistically use either red or white.

Maybe we should take a leaf out of the book of road signs.

Instead of colours we just have words that are immediately recognisable. So, for example we just have multiple lines that say 'Red White Red White Red White" but printer vertically ofcourse and in good proportion.

There you go, problem solved.

I would have thought colour blind people could tell which team was ours, by the fact its Norwood and Fleck etc running about 🤔

I too am fortunate not to be colour blind, so struggle to understand what colours and shades cause the problem. Was last night’s match between England in all white and Italy in all mid blue a real problem, as I suspect it would be ?
I am also at a loss to understand why the home club has to change. It was voted through by the EFL members so there must be some logic that evades me completely! Does anyone know the genuine reason ?

I'm partially colour blind but it's never been an issue for me at footy
