At the end of the season, all the little clubs that have done well should rightly have their heads patted. Well done!
Meanwhile, the pundits get together and decide which teams should be allowed to go forward to the elite competitions. This will solve the problem of little teams displacing aristocrats, who are clearly merely temporarily embarassed. Playing in the elite competitions will allow the 'big 6' teams to replenish their coffers with tv money which will help restore the natural balance.
I'm sure everyone agrees with Stan that elite competions are no environment for the likes of Sheffield United or Burnley, who just don't have the manners or the breeding!

Man U aside - how many English sides have actually performed well in the Europa league.

The 'elite' see it as beneath them and rarely take it seriously, so why not let someone else have a good. Look at Wolves this season, they're absolutely destroying it. It's refreshing to see and I hope they go all the way in it.

So going back to 2000 English teams have won the competition 4 times, and finished as runners up 5 times. Comparatively the Champions League has again been won 4 times and runners up 7 times- so fairly comparable numbers. It’s also worth mentioning ‘the elite’ playing in the Europa League is comparatively recent as for about 2/3 of that time the top teams wouldn’t have even been in the Europa League- the champions league places were much more stagnant.
