Think he deserves a mention tonight. Somebody thought I was a mental when I said he did actually have the attributes to be a decent player, he just makes the odd (OK, "regular" rather than "odd" last season) mistake that costs us and stands out.

Thought he was great tonight. looked strong in the air, yes, he dallied once and let Macken have a shot across goal, but he looked very composed and confident on the ball and even got an assist after his second or third run out of defence almost the length of the pitch.

I just liked how he looked to keep moving play on and actually take it forward when possible, but if there wasn't a pass on, rather than just hoof it, he'd pass it sideways to Maguire or go on a bit of a run with the ball.

More of the same please Mr C!

all he ever does is square it to harry??!.. although his mazy run was a bit of a shock.. to everybody!

His assist for Willo's goal was brilliant. I was actually stunned!

Which one? I recall him going on a couple tonight! He does play the square ball a lot, I wish Maguire would do this a bit more rather than hoofing it diagonally to nobody in particular, but when there's a pass forwards on, Collins does seem to be looking for it a lot more now.

Possibly a sign he's actually getting a bit of confidence.

Well seems like he can perform at this level and that might be down to confidence.

Although good to see players from last season finally stepping up their game.

I've said it on another thread but I think he will be a key player this year. A consistent team selection around him and he will be fine.

I loved the ghosting past three challenges like a Dutch maestro in the first half as he went on a mazy dribble. Berated by some haters for it no doubt.

i think maguire can learn alot from him, but i still think as a partnership they lack pace, if we sit deep and get done on the counter i dont trust simmo not to flap.

I said last season that Collins would do a lot better at this level, which is probably a bit more to his liking.

One thing i did notice about Collins last season was a total lack of confidence.

Collins was an 8/10 last night, did everything that was expected of him and looks comfortable with the new non-hoofball approach.

If Brownie can accept he was wrong about the car-park then I can say that Collins looked like a decent player last night, at times! Fair play to him, the run was brilliant and obviously helped us to a vital 6 point lead over Wendy.

He has started this season very well and fair play to him. We want to see players respond to criticism.

League 1 might be a comfortable level for him and so far that seems to be the case.

As was mentioned by someone else, confidence seemed to be a massive issue for him last season.

As long as he keeps his current level of performance up he will do for me!
