Gone Elsewhere Cole Palmer

According to their forum, Pep's put him on the left in the first team but coming through, he's played more regularly on the right. I'd have thought he'd play the 10 role but surely we can't play 2 up front with him behind in the Prem? I'd imagine he'd play off McBurnie (or someone coming in).
I imagine Hecky would want to use him primarily in the attacking midfield roles, probably on the right, so he can cut in and get better shooting angles....we need to replace Ndiaye and McAtee for goals as much as anything and Hecky had already switched McAtee to the right at the end of last season. But, I seem to remember Palmer also did play a couple of games in central midfield for the England U21s and he is quite a big unit, so I wonder if he could also perhaps give us an option on left midfield, going box to box. He is certainly a lot stronger than McAtee and may offer us more resilience there. Just guessing though...

Big unit in the same way as Nicholas Lyndhurst mate. Anyways, not happening by the sounds of it so we can move on

no looking like west ham the favourites now for this lad and with mahrez gone i doubt pep would allow mcatee out on loan again if palmer does go

Not sure why I feel like I am in the minority on this one but I would prefer mcatee to palmer.

He’s already been here
Wont take long to settle
We wouldn’t need to change to bring him back

Palmer on the other hand has never been out on loan and we don’t have the luxury of letting him settle. He is also more of a winger. I could understand it more if we were getting another winger and going down the west game 343 route.

I am never a fan of being someone’s first loan club. Nearly didn’t work wirh mcatee, we have had Ben Woodburn, carter vickers, two Man Utd strikers, We have always had more success when the player has been out on loan before. Henderson Doyle.

I also think palmer is more of a big head than mcatee
Agree.

Pep having a press conference as we speak. Direct question came about Palmer. He stated as it stands he is our player but it will be a decision of the club towards the end of the window what will be best for him.
I understand that Man City hold all the card with this and they should not be rushed, but I hope there is some form of verbal assurances way before the end of the window.
We can't just hang on until the last day waiting for Pep to call.
Even if we have back up plans, leaving it to the last day to agree anything is going to result in the 'well we tried, but.........'. There are too many factors to sort out on the last day usually.
Not easy as we are desperate, but I would be telling them we have to know by end of next week.

Tbh, despite our good relationship with City I reckon we might not be anywhere near first choice as a possible destination for Palmer as City might want him to be at a team with a better chance at staying up.
Agreed, McAtee and Doyle weren't exactly setting the world on fire, hence going out on loan. Even McAtee took 6months to get good.

I want to see a fight between genghis, baltic and andy.
Genghis would batter them both at the same time with one hand tied behind his back whilst eating a kebab

He's just come on for City v Burnley.

Can't see them loaning the kid if he's getting his chance from the bench regularly this season. Sad as think he'd be an absolutely class signing if we managed to pull of a loan

He's just come on for City, and DeBruyne looks to be injured again. Probably a no go.

Both Palmer and McAtee were on City's bench tonight, WTF are our board playing about at?

Do we have to use the /s? Comment loses it's effect straight away.

He's played the last two matches for Man City and they've had a £30m bid in for him.

He might come on loan, but I wouldn't bet my house on it.

1/1000 shot and I'm being kind.

Same for McAtee

I reckon Doyle is coming though 😁
