It isn't just Wilder leaving, is it ? It's who he's been replaced with. If they'd replaced him with someone half-decent, fair enough. But some fuckwit who just scraped survival on goal difference, and then got sacked, anyway? Fuck me. If coh didn't know what they doing, they shouldn't have bought us in the first place.

As for embarrassing, what's truly embarrassing is every single fucking football fan in Britain laughing their fucking heads off at us tonight. And you can't blame them. I'm furious with the owners for inflicting this shit on us when they're based in a different country, completely immune from the scorn and derision being poured on us from all angles. They've turned us into a laughing stock overnight. Fucking morons.

This is why overseas based posters are fine with it - they haven't got to face neighbours, colleagues, etc. laughing their fucking heads off at us left, right and centre. The pigs are in the worst state they've ever been in, and even they're laughing their stupid trotters off at us, and you can't blame em. Can't afford to pay wages, transfer embargo, EFL telling them to get their shit together, and, yet, magically they've gone from having a manager magnitudes worse than ours, to having one magnitudes better, in the space of a couple of hours. Tremendous.

I've even had Rotherham and fucking Doncaster fans laughing at us, and you can't even say anything back to em because they're right. What do I say, "Yes, I know we've just shot ourselves in the foot with the biggest fucking bazooka the world has ever seen, but our cretinous, arsehole owners know what they're doing, honest!"

Absolutely shocking. My 88 year old Dad won't go to his Community Centre tomorrow, and that's really shocked me. He's brilliant with football banter usually, really enjoys mixing it with fans of the other local teams, but he says this is the first time he can remember that he can't defend our actions - he doesn't want to go and agree with them when they start mocking us, because he'd never agree with anyone taking the piss out of us, but for the first time he can remember, he can't think what to say to defend us.

Brilliant. Ex-army, tough as proverbial old boots, still independent and looking after himself at his age, and reluctant to see his pals because he'll feel disloyal agreeing with everyone laughing at us, but he can't disagree with em either. Thanks coh. You might think this is all a big laugh, but my Dad's been watching United over 80 years, and this is what you've inflicted on him. It's not a big laugh to him.
I take it you aren't a fan of Ruben then? BTW that so called fuckwits team hammered ours last time they met Wilder tactically outclassed and schooled by Selles

That's alright then. All we've got to do now is persuade every owner of every championship club to employ Chris Wilder just for the 2 matches we play against them, then persuade the EFL that this is within the rules and not blatant cheating, and we might actually manage to get more points than a chip fork. Happy days.

Good luck with that everyone thinks hes shit

I hope you're finding this every bit as hilarious when we're back in League One, getting our arses handed to us by Crawley and Yeovil, again.

It's become obvious in the last few weeks that this forum has more than its fair share of petty, small minded people who wanted to get rid of Wilder out of jealousy and vindictiveness, rather than for footballing reasons, but I'm genuinely surprised there are so many who are willing to jeopardize the wellbeing of the club just to further this agenda. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. It's very, very odd.

Crikey. I guess we had better all take a long, hard look at ourselves if you’re saying this, because you’re not someone who’s known for hysterical overreaction, are you? It must be serious.

Embrace the chaos and think how amazing our team of AI wingers will be at that level

Yeovil aren't in League One, do keep up. Talk about Wilder living in the past 🤣

Wilder is my most favourite ever Blades’ manager, but it is embarrassing that there’s this cult that’s totally blinkered to the possibility of success without him. Talks of League One, just because he has gone (not for the first time) demonstrates that.

It shows a total lack of faith in the club (the one you’re meant to support, not an individual) and in particular the players.

And herein lies the issue, the fans are split like I’ve never seen before and tolerance seems to be a dirty word. It’s getting like politics. Can we acknowledge it is all opinion, not fact and at least try and focus on getting behind the the new set up without having to laud it over those who are hugely disappointed to see what they perceive as an injustice. Personally I’d have kept CW but Selles is in post now so can’t we move forward together?

I think the best thing to do if people are worried about a split fanbase is to refer to people they don’t agree with as a cult, ridicule them and tell them to stop posting / tweeting.

As I was explaining to Prestwich Blade above, I have PTSD. I don't know if you've ever experienced it yourself, or know anything about it, but one of the odd things about it is that you overreact to some things, and underreact to others.

Brief overview of the overreaction part of it:

The important bit is: "These reactions stem from the brain's oversensitivity to perceived threats after a traumatic event."

That being the case, my apologies and you have my sympathy. Obviously I didn’t know that, and it explains things. One of my adult kids has ADHD and whilst it is not the same as PTSD it means that I’m no stranger to overreactions.

Take care & UTB.

The Wilderites are out in force today. The same ones spouting the “back the manager” bollocks for the last few weeks.

Amazing how they only want to back someone if he’s “one of our own”.
'He's one of our own' has covered a lot up this last season, in particular, even when the kop were singing it less and less.

How many properly successful managers were born in the city they work in?

Chris had his time in the sun twice. Maybe the being one of the lads, drinking, and 'one of our own' made many feel safe but masked too much, the poor signings and failings on the pitch last season.

While hugely grateful for 2016 onwards, our style and fitness this time were a parody of that first iteration of Wilder and it's taken a brave move to dislodge him in full knowledge of the sh*storm that would follow. Had we had the same fitness, aggression and buy in from the team, more drive and fearless play, then maybe that power that comes from the team and fans being truly in the fight together might have got us to where we wanted to be.

It just wasn't anywhere near the same.

Listened to Selles' interviews and there's a good one floating about from Harlee Dean that references the fitness needed and the 'vertical' style of play.
Our squad need to get ready, properly, this time round.

That'll do me, to replace the 'horizontal' sleep inducing style we saw up to May.

I'm in.

Well done Sir! This could be the biggest overreaction ever seen on here (and there is some exceeding strong competition). There should be some sort of prize.

Unbelievable jeff

Shall we try and give the new gaffer a chance first before we get pitch forks put?

Could be genius move, could be disaster, we all agree the football was dire all season and hoping for 1-0s wasnt pretty nor good for our fans (no wonder atmosphere was dead at times). We all also acknowledge and agree wilder dis a stellar job achieving 90 points.

The new manager has some pressure without the fans being on his back already. Let's back him and get the ground rocking and see what he can do.
I don't agree that the football was dire all season. A lot of it was really good. So it's not all of us. Thanks.

This is genuinely the first time I've ever come across someone who enjoys being the butt of other people's jokes. Bizarre.
Just tell them to bollocks and get on with life, if supporters of Rotherham and the Pigs are taking the piss out of us then it’s pure deflection on their part.

Pigs will just be hoping that he says the Derby matches are ‘just another game’.

Worrying about getting nasty comments from other football fans because your team made a decision to sack a manager is playground stuff.
