The technology is old and has needed upgrading for donkey's years. There's no "right" volume for the whole stadium due to this, it's a result of the mish mash of stands/technology from different periods. They're basically making the best of a shit situation: if they move it up or down or keep it the same they're going to piss a lot of people off.

Is the volume turned up to mask the inadequacies of the system? On the odd occasion that someone is interviewed on the pitch it's possible to hear what GS says but impossible to understand what the interviewee is talking about.

Incidentally there should have been an option to leave it as it is - but it's hardly a scientific poll is it?

The PA system is quite tinny and distorted on both the Kop and John Street. Probably wouldn't be so offensive on the ears if the system was upgraded as the current one hasn't had any TLC in the last decade if not longer.

i had absolutely no issue hearing every word. Neither did anybody around me. Just because some partially deaf old crustaceans can’t hear it doesn’t mean it’s broken.
Personal abuse is not part of this discussion. Around us there is a wide range of ages from about 7 to 80 and most find the music too loud and none could hear the replies from the interviewed group.

I don’t think I’ve noticed the music being loud on the kop.
Depends where you sit. My old ST seat had a speaker pointing directly at it and was one of the main reasons my young'un didn't get on with the matchday experience

Anyway I think the club's main focus for the season should be finding Alan Knill a stylist. This outfit just isn't dignified, man

Having agreed with calls to turn the sound down I'm now wondering, does anyone actually sit and listen to the music being played?

I doubt it.
My view is that now we have a fan zone there is no need for music within the stadium.

Apart from the music volume did anyone else find the DrCinik round the pitch advertising ridiculously bright when it flashed. I found it very distracting
Those adverts annoy me way, way more than the PA ever could

Can we sort this out please lads?

After Bash's testimonial got delayed today, it was pretty miserable sitting in the John St stand while the 20 extra mins of Countdown to Kick-off was drilled mercilessly into the deepest parts of my skull.

I don't get it - the volume is always fine at half time?

this 1 of things that does annoy me on the family stand. if your not sat next to them. its impossible to have any kind of conversation pre match or at half time

ST In BLUT can here nowt of what's been said ever, here a bit of incoherent shit occasionally from Garyoke but never hear owt what the interviewees say, then when gazza is waffling on at end of game barely hear that, the music is reminiscent of chavs playing football with them shitty tinny speaker systems or when you're on a bus or train an some cunt has earphones on and you can just hear it.

Life’s rate hard work sometimes, tinny loud PA system, people turning up late, vaping and an occasional pyro!! Makes my piss boil………nar not really just all adds to match day experience on kop

The PA system on John Street recently has been almost impossible to hear. Distorted and either way too loud or too quiet. Doesn't anyone ever do sound checks?

Fwiw completely agree with most on here, the PA is too loud. Can understand it being pretty loud for 10 mins up to KO to build atmosphere, but on BLUT it’s so loud it’s proper distorted and sounds awful.

Great to see the forum's most crucial post, back at top billing.

I was in Family Stand today for the first time ever. Safe to say I could not hear my family.

After having the Covid period keeping your distance, wearing a mask etc, etc, it's so good to try having a conversation whilst getting covered in spittle from the guy next to you trying to make his self heard, turn it down!
