It seems that we still made a profit last season despite no fans. Given that some clubs like Everton and Aston Villa are blaming COVID for massive £100m losses it seems the board were wise in the decisions they made last January and in the summer. Apparently the accounts ended in June and therefore they don't include the Ramsdale sale. The athletic have done a detailed article https://theathletic.com/news/sheffi...-95m-for-2020-21-financial-year/Q8S9f9kXWvtZ/

take a look at the Accounts
talk about muddy water !
some serious questions but unlike under McCabe no chance to ask anyone anymore
£30m bank loan on Club Accounts?
£53m bank loan on Blades Leisure ?
purchases from United World £2.5m ?
Director fee £122k ?
Insurance Claim £2.5m?
Blades leisure have creditors of £9m ?
maybe its best that we don't know

Credit to the Star for looking for the negatives.

…and the pigs who‘ll be quick to try and spin it their way. No doubt one or two new members will be making an appearance to put their spin on a £9.5m profit 🙄)

You only have to read the first 6 words of that article to find the first mistake, which is good going even by the Star's standards.

The period ending June 2021 was 11 months, versus 13 months in the previous period after they extended the accounting year due to COVID. So looking at the £20m reduction in wages is not comparing like for like, but I wouldn't expect Shield to notice such details
