WEIR CLOUGH
GP 10 14
W 1 4
D 2 5
L 7 5
GS 6 16
GA 16 17
WIN % 10% 28.6%

So as we can see there has been improvement in both the win percentage and the goal scoring. The thing that concerns me now is the team we have to play will be wanting to come to BDTBL and win like Wolves, Brentford, Leyton Orient, Peterborough not to mention those in a relegation fight. I also feared what Clough has said below as we had this problem when Adams was in charge.

(However, with his side 23rd in the table, Clough acknowledged United’s predicament could have a bearing upon recruitment policy.

“Yes, that does make a difference,” he said. “We lost Alan Judge from Blackburn Rovers to Brentford.

“We should have got him in November and didn’t. We tried again in January and the answer was a ‘no’ because of the position.”)

This was my concern when we sacked Weir, what would happen if things didnt change? Now they have changed slightly, but give it a few weeks and it could be virtually the same, our away form in particular is horrific. It basically means we have to win evey home game which puts more pressure on us. Wilson for all his faults, had a good away record.

Wouldn't a better yardstick be the three defeats and only a draw in the last four league games three of those against teams we need to win to survive.

Question.

Would we have beaten Villa & Fulham while Weir was in charge?

Highly doubtful.

2 wins and a draw you gave to Clough should be credited to Morgan.

Well, we lost to Burton and Hartlepool (both home matches) in other cup competitions, and only got through against Scunthorpe on penalties, so I think 'highly doubtful' is being charitable! Absolutely no chance for as long as the earth continues to spin on it's axis.
