Interesting that he admitted that the confidence dropped after the home defeats to Fleetwood and Peterborough, and that affected our desire to go forward at Walsall and get the second.

He also referred to the fact that we had six new outfield players in the team on Saturday - most teams' players learn about each other in pre-season, over half our team on Saturday have only been learning since the close of the JTW.

He also referred to the possibility of us not going up. It's a young side, and his first full season in charge. It sounded like he would be very disappointed if he were to be replaced in the summer, but reading between the lines recognises it's a possibility.

He also mentioned that he had a lot of sympathy for Sean Derry "after all he's done at Notts County. But that's football today"

Also he doesn't really care where we finish in the play offs, as long as we make it. If we win on Tuesday we'd be 8 points behind 4th place, which would, if we made the Play Offs, give us home advantage for the second leg of the semi. If fourth place is within reach if or when we confirm our place, I'd like to see us push on for 4th, although some players would obviously need to be rested.

Same 18 as Saturday, Jay McEve may get back in

Chance Doyle returns to 11, striving for balance in midfield, didn't play sat cos thought he would get booked

Pleased with Brayford at CH, Wallsall his best performance at CH, happy with freeman at RB. Bray was a CH as a youngster at Burton, switched to RB at Derby, He has struggled to get forward this year which is frustrating

Please with having Howard back, little difference from turner, but enough difference to keep a clean sheet

Will be following up calls this week with regards to getting someone in on loan but depends on TK, if hes back sooner than expected, may not bother, not looking to strengthen anywhere else

Scougs and James Wallace back in training, Wallace may be back playing a week on Sat

Derry situation at Notts wont change JCR situation - hes there till end of season

Looking to loan 2/3 players out on short term deals (4 weeks) getting them back in for the run in after game time

This week crucial, got to be picking up wins. Results more important than performances now, clean sheets also important. Impressing on the team that home games are vital to our success.

People taking the "good point away from home" comments out of hand, not to say we wanted the draw or didnt go for the win, but rather have a point than a loss.

Will be going for wins Tuesday and Saturday from the Outset. Team is confident, just needs to be confident together, Wallsall example of this not happening. 6 out of outfield 10 on Sat new players, starting to click.

Saturday Davies best game, Davies wants to score, Clough happy if he doesnt score as long as he keeps playing like Saturday. Delighted to have got him.

Looking for 3 points against Scunny, played them recently so should know what they are about.

Not bothered where we finish in the top 6, priority to get in them and then go for it.

Fans need to stick with us, more we all get together, better chance we have. Knows we are not playing well but its getting there, going to be a grind at times.

Going to give it everything to get up this year, still a young growing team.

Nigel likes the kit, bit different and a bit of a change. Players liked it.

I dont care if its 5th or 6th ,
you play at home first but with a good display could kill it off
its not like 5th or 6th placed teams never win play offs, they in fact are more or less 50/ 50 across all 3 divisions in victories with 3rd 4th place finishers,

He is NOT interested in players in any other position (than centre half)
centre half not all that interested either according to Star
Talked to derry about a loan player yesterday
as he wants 'several people who are not getting games' out on loan for 28 days only
to come back for the run in.
No the numpty Walker did NOT ask who :?
Nor my questions :)

@Walkerpw did he really think it was all out attack as promised on Saturday - will it be the same or more defensive again!

@Walkerpw Is @haz19951 really that bad that his height cannot be useful at the back :? What does he think of McEverley's 'reliability'.

@Walkerpw What has MacFadzean done to upset him so much that admist all the bad performances and rotation he has never got a look in :?

Friendly on Wednesday for Kennedy hipefully - and was it Scougs?
NOT sure if at home so people can go (and report!)

JCR has a 28 day recall, so we could potentially get him back by the end of the season

Thanks for the summary.

I think all of these are very good points and reflect welll on Clough as a person.

I'd really like a response to why we retreat into our shell when we go 1-0 up. Afaict this approach is vexing a significant proportion of fans.

I think I heard him talk about this as a positive step earlier in the season in that we don't park the bus in the traditional manner, rather we do retreat but then try and play on the counter. I think this has been true, and Murphy has scored a couple when we've played this way. Not sure it always applies though.

Well Nigel might be happy with JB as a CB, but I'm not. We paid big money for him as an inspirational, overlapping RB - that's where we should be playing him. Why couldn't Alcock cover CB (as he did at the beginning of the season)? Or how about the Prince getting Collins and the management team together in a room and sorting out his future one way or the other? Loan him out, pay him off, or stop acting like little kids and bring him back into the squad.
"Team is confident, but not confident together" - WTF does this mean? I don't see confidence either individually or collectively at the moment.

MacFazdean isn't good enough and annoyed me by acting like an idiot so I have no issues with him being nowhere near our team. I just hope the contract we put him on when McCabe made "a statement" about keeping our youngsters wasn't too silly. It will probably be the best one he has and hopefully the last one with us.

Alcock should never play CH again and I can't believe he ever did.

HM2 seems to have had his allotted number of games for the year and won't get another game for us despite currently being our only fit CH and being deemed perfectly acceptable early in the season. I like it when Kennedy plays but he needs experience alongside him.

He was only talking about the immediate future. I'm sure Kennedy will be back soon, just in time for the playoffs and will be the favoured player with Basham or MacE. Therefore allowing the Beard to return to Right Back and bring his runs back into our game.

With a game every few days, it was inevitable we would pick up niggles, but we are getting players back at the right moment. Kennedy, Scougs and Wallace are welcome news at the business end of the season.

The news of Wallace should please everyone - lets just hope he stays fit long enough...MOM at Wembley would be nice :)

If we can keep him fit to play the three playoff games I think it would significantly increase our chances of finally winning them.

absolutely..........lets hopefully call him "our get out of jail card" ! cos at the moment we have been in for 3 years with the chance of a couple more!

I would make sure we get Done playing up front again as soon as possible. The multitude of teamsheet changes each week along with the disruptive continual, individual positional changes result in regular performances showing a lack of confidence are entirely Clough's responsibility. I appreciate they are influencing factors however.

Much as I'd like to see James Wallace fit for the play-offs, I just can't see it happening.

Injuries and suspensions happen, loss of form happens, inevitably that means rotating and repositioning. Not entirely Nigel's fault.
