I don't get to Bramall Lane that often as I'm usually playing football myself at the same time. A few weeks ago though I wasn't playing and caught the train down from Kirkcaldy to watch the Blades. On the way to the stadium I saw a road called 'Clough Road' very near the stadium.

When I lived in Sheffield I never approached the stadium from the side of the train station so I'd never seen it before. Just so I know for certain: A road called 'Clough Road' being right next to the stadium is a complete coincidence isn't it? We didn't have some daft renaming thing going or anything did we?

Cheers,
Christian

Been there for decades, Christian.

Mind you, when he doth leadeth us to the promised land I reckon St Mary's Gate should be renamed ;)

Hi Christian,

Any chance you could stop scuffling one in in the last minute at Easter Road? Or if not, try doing the same in Glasgow?

Thanks

De Frain Boulevard in California - named in honour of one of our toughest tackling midfielders ever.

Hi Christian,

I've just had a Beef Curry, Chips and a Pancake Roll from the Chinese and am now polishing off a Twix. What should I have as my main course?

Thanks

Sorry guys but I did mention this last year , after Mr Clough saved us from relegation .
Although first time I noticed it was v Swindon 2014 .

Hi Raul,

I hope you are not still waiting for my answer before deciding. I am always inclined towards choosing beef in black pepper sauce whenever I go to a Chinese. The best Chinese I've ever been to was Hao Haidong's house when we were both playing for United. He lived on Lowedges at the time.

Regards,
Christian

Hi Christian,

Thank you for replying to me. It meant a lot, given you were just hours away from fulfilling my first request. I thought it should go on record here and everyone can enjoy it as much as I have.

Warmest congratulations

raul

I came across these archive maps earlier while doing some other research and it seems that there have been quite a few Clough this, that and the others around the Lane area. Clough Bank, Clough Works, Clough Cottage etc etc.

"The White House" near the cricket ground was owned by a man called John Brammall and the lane was named after him. Over the years the letter "m" was dropped from the street name
