Tufty was, apparently, high up their wanted list as well. Or so I was told !!

UTB

This must be quite good for the Burton chairman. Clough's done quite well but they're slipping slowly and could easily go down. A new manager might just give them a lift, if they get the right one.

I think both their ex-managers are out of work too.

Compo for Cloughie, he leaves with his head held high and maybe they can get Rowett or JFH back.

poisoned chalice of a job whilst the current owner Fawaz is at the helm running things like a circus.

look at this latest interview he did, absolutely squirming under the very fair and reasonable questions from the interviewer lady who brought up all the problems the club has...

As poor as Forest have been they still have a better squad than Burton so he may just keep them up. Tactically, Clough is an ideal manager for a relegation scrap. Lord help them if/when he gets his hands on a transfer budget though.

Ticks all the boxes for the self interest of all parties.

The only ones to lose out will be the fans and who cares what they think?

A slight disappointment if this happens is that we won't get a chance next season to beat Burton and push Nigel closer to the sack.

One of the few things I was looking forward to if we are still in League one.

So a promotion he nearly fucked up, on his CV, now the chance to avoid a relegation on it.

What to do, what to do...

Clough to Forest would also mean he ends up pining for his little puppy dog to rejoin him.

The difference here could be he could actually afford to buy Brayford in the summer, whereas at Burton he probably couldn't afford him.

Given his stubbornness, I'd give him about as long as his dad lasted at Leeds

Oh Jesus that's tragic.......

It's little wonder people think so highly of Clough with how the national media praise him. He won "manager of the year" in some paper last season for taking Burton up which actually ruined my entire day when I read it.

Theres a whiff of a chance if he does take it that things could end up clicking for Forest again, given his previous association with them and if it leads to a resurrection of former old players from his days there coming in to join behind the scenes then I can see some of the old spirit returning, and you'd have to be pretty harsh minded or callous to begrudge them that at least.

I wanna see the old traditional clubs with the proper dyed in the wool supporters back in the top division, which of course includes the Blades :)

There can be little doubt now that Clough gets the jobs he does simply due to his name. No way would a club like Forest even think about approaching a manager with his record if it wasn't.

Yeah, I mean look at some of their previous appointments.
Montanier, Freedman, McLeish, Cotterill all colossi of the English game when Forest came calling! Or perhaps you're thinking of the legends that are Stuart Pearce, Racist Ron or Gary Megson.

They look like their in a relegation battle. How many relegations has Clough on his CV?

He'll need to make his mind up pronto, otherwise Brayford will be home alone in Burton without his footy Daddy.
